Last bottle - still going strong, though. Bold, ripe fruit, firm tannin, and lovely balance. This still has a long life ahead of it; however, I've been unable to resist slowly plowing through a case over time

Bouquet of ripe, dark berries, liquor, mint, cherries. Ripe, hedonistic palate balanced with some acidic bite, slight bitterness which moves more to the background with some air, leading to a nice finish with some sweetness, brown sugar, spices, herbs, that tingle for quite a while. Great wine.

I'm not giving a numerical score because I think the bottle had to be flawed, based on everyone else's scores. It was cooked, stewed, pruned. No fruit; undrinkable.

PnP - fantastic right out of the bottle and even better 2+ hours in. Floral red berry fruits - cherry, herbs, and sweet oak & clay. Soft, silky and gaining a round complexity with time in the glass. Elegant mouthfeel with some drying tannins and touch of grip on the beautiful finish. Drink now +3.

In my cellar since release. Decanted an hour before starting to taste, then tried over the evening and over the next 2 days. Medium to dark garnet and quite youthful. Red and black fruited with chocolate and floral notes. Still bright with a subtle richness. Very controlled and long. Good food wine. Great with Elk medallions. Nice finish. Still quite drinkable on day 3, though a bit astringent by then.

In my cellar since release. Double decanted at 4:30pm and tasted through 9pm. No sign of any bricking or oxidation with a brilliant saturated medium to dark garnet color. Nose has layers of oak derived notes like vanilla, cedar and tobacco along with black cherry and black raspberry. Palate is more tart blackberry and with fennel and layers of earthy and woodsy flavors and moderate tannin. Finish is long and flavorful. Great with grilled steaks and roast pork.

Like this wine, but don’t love it. Doesn’t seem to be improving. Cherries getting a touch more tart and the tannins are pretty grippy. Hold for another couple of years

Bouquet of ripe cherries, cherry candy, mint, undergrowth. Very silky, lush palate, even on first night right out of the gate, cherries, leading to a nice finish. Definitely from a ripe vintage, however with a nice amount of freshness.

Ten years later - this is still bursting, robust and foodworthy. Full of flavor. After heavy areation, the first signs of frailty began to set in. I recommend drinking now / within the next three years. 50/5/13/17/8

Fragrant nose of cherry skins and earth. Entry is tasty but a bit thin. Lighter weight mid-mouth. Loads of baked fruit on the back end. Tannins there but coming late. This is on the more elegant side of Sangiovese with plenty of heft on the finish to last. Extended to 2030

Cherry notes and balanced with oak with an incredible mouthfeel from the juicy tannins.. Still so lively after 15 years quite incredible.
Key points about this WOTN for me, ?? It's even better when served at an optimum chilled temperature, I preferred the direct bottle pour compared to the warmer decanted bottle @[1|1258030|SKT]
And.. gorgeous red fruit nose with a hint of pepper or spice to lift thus ???? Wonderful!

Ruby color with a little brick at edges. Bright red fruit ok nose an palate at first. Over 2 hours, some chocolate notes developed along with super sweet tomatoes. Had some nice spice and bright acidity that was great with cioppino.

This drinks fairly young for 14 - classy and even a bit sexy. Some bricking, though not to the degree expected. The nose is big, spicy and fruity - both black and red fruit. A bit of something wild that I could not identify. Sleek feel in the mouth and perfect acid/tannin balance. Flavors were dark (not black) cherry, black tea, tobacco and on the early finish a hint of coffee. Excellent finish with fine tannin and a pleasant tart feel. Drank in a comparison with the 2017 Cepparello and the wines do not seem ten years apart - reflecting both the longevity of the ‘07 and the early approachability of the ‘17. If I had more of these I would not hesitate to drink them up over the next 3 - 5. Second day the wine softened and became deeper, but still remains in balance. A bit more alcohol showing than last night. More pronounced ripe red plum in the mouth and black tea on the finish. I preferred the wine after opening than some 12 hours later. An elegant, feminine expression of sangiovese.
Clear medium garnet; clean medium minus nose of balsamic and florality; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; medium alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of tar, black licorice and cocoa; medium plus finish; drink now; lacked the complexity of our previous bottle in 2018 - on the down hill or maybe an off bottle?

Incredibly tasty bouquet of ripe cherries, blackberries, vanilla, flint, undergrowth. Silky, yummy palate, round, sweet with a nice hit of freshness, mint, leading to a medium-length finish with Italian herbs, spices, pleasant amount of slight bitterness. Has really come together over the past 1-2 years, more interesting than in its youth. In a great drinking window.

Warm red fruit, anise, spice, and toasted wood. Dryish tightish tannins but firm polished structure; fruit laced finish with nice acidity and persistence.
Slightly behind the ‘09 from last night

As wonderful as this Sangiovese is, I can’t say it has improved a whole lot. In light of the price hike, not sure where the QPR lies. Their Chianti drinks just as well although their prices have been going up too. Drink up.

All I wills ay that this bottle 5 of a 6 pack purchased on release that is still going strong. Just textbook sangiovese. Drink now or hold for another 5 years.
Excellent stuff.

Came together much better after some air. There was some mould present under the foil cap, so that might explain the raisiny finish that would be present when a wine is drank toward the end of its drinking window. This score may have been higher and more consistent with other CT users had the issue with some cork leagage not been present.

What a wine. Dried cherries, good tannins, rusted nail finish. So many layers of flavours. A great example of a Sangiovese. Still fresh with lots of life left even though it is 14 years old. Wow.

Really drinking well right now and just entering its window, IMHO. Big and juicy but in balance and not overripe or over-extracted. Darker fruit upon opening moving to red cherries and spice after about an hour. Wishing I had more of this!

Wine is a pretty dare i say burgundy color. Light browning on the rim. Pretty nose. Darker cherry, plum, flowers, bit of cedar/tobacco. Very balanced, integrated tannins round out this medium body Sangiovese. Very nice. This wine has secondary characteristics showing, it will not get better but has structure to hold for some time .

A very good bottle. Tannins have softened and this is drinking very nicely right now. Feels like a warmer style on nose and has sweetness. Easy to drink with or without food which is a positive though not sure how long I’d age it. Surely will go for some time but I’d be happy to drink them now and in coming year or two so though I’m sure comments will be added in years to come that are positive. I’ve had a few from this producer and enjoyed them all. Decent value for very good wines.

Bottle 5 or 6 from a case purchased on release. (if the pandemic continues the rest of the case will go quickly....)
Medium ruby in appearance- some lightening at the rim, but not much...
Pronounced and evolved nose of confected cherry, plum, tobacco and plenty of savory notes- thyme perhaps.
Medium bodied with excellent flavor concentration and plenty of bracing acidity. The finish is definitely long.
What a great Sangiovese that is showing no signs of tiring at age 13 or so. Will probably hold for another 5-10 years if stored properly, but why wait?

In my cellar since release. Decanted at 4pm and tasted through about 10 pm. Medium to dark garnet with no sign of age. Lots of oak driven aromatics like vanilla, cedar, tobacco then mostly black fruited elements like blackberry and black plum. Palate still has a firm tannic backbone though it seems to be softening, especially with more air-time. Acidity is medium to medium(+) finish is fairly long but while I have had some vintages of this wine that have really impressed me, this one seemed very reticent and not quite showing its potential??

Tasted double blind, and was only told that it was Italian. A lot of oak on the nose, which made me think it was younger than it was (I don't drink much oaky Sangiovese), this is a big wine - dark, with lots of jam, some pruneyness and a touch of chocolate. Given the oak, this made me think it was a Super Tuscan (Rob correctly called a Sangiovese). The mid-palate has quite a bit of roasted fruit and then dissipates into nothing on the finish other than a hint of chocolate. If there's acidity here, it's buried under waves of pruney fruit and oak. A wine designed not to appeal to my palate - lots of it left!

Pandemic Zoom Wine Tasting (Home): Tasted double blind on zoom after bottling in small bottles and shipping overnight cross-country. Medium ruby, youthful color; aromatic, a bit feral, musky, gamey, a bit black cherry, plummy; palate is medium bodied, medium acidity, medium-plus balanced alcohol, tannins are medium and very approachable, black and blue fruits; finish is medium length though fades to a clean finish just a bit too fast. Could be Syrah, cool climate like Northern rhone but from a warmer year (Cornas, St. Joseph?)? Day 2: Seems a bit more odd today, more pronounced oak, not nearly as much musk and gameyness today. Disappointing for me for this producer and not that recognizable as sangiovese. 86

Savory + Sweettart dark cherry juice with medium+ acidity, glossy mouthfeel, some cherry pits, fine dark tannin, shortish finish. I can see this being great with powerful food, e.g., meat. Very good, but not particularly great. 92-93

No it does not have the class of the Flaccianello. Somewhat one dimensional black fruit but developing more intrigue by day 2 with some tar, mineral and licorice elements. Acidity is decent. Perhaps wait a few more years and see how it goes.

Muted, elegant bouquet of raspberry liquor and vanilla with earthy tones. Very nice palate, full, lush, silky, raspberry, ripe red fruits, more vanilla, freshness, with an element of subtle mint and some spices, tingling for quite a while. I really like the 2007 vintage, currently preferring it to 2006, especially for more elegant, fresher wines like Cepparello, where the heat of the vintage interacts nicely with the style. For 2006 in Italy I currently prefer more hedonistically styled wines. I really love this wine, not over the top, but such a pleasure to drink.

Not sure I have the words to describe this wine! So many conflicting thoughts! It REALLY needs a serious decant for a good few hours! After that you are left with a genuinely perplexing wine. Is there something else other than Sangiovese here? It is so lush! Not a trait I would normally associate with this varietal. It's a VERY big wine but ultimately I think in a good way - it has the typical acidity with bags of cherry fruit and herbs. At the risk of ridicule, this is sooo much more enjoyable than a limp and lifeless Sassicaia 2001 which I tried a few weeks ago. Glad I have 2 more bottles of this beautiful wine!

Opened in the bottle for a few hours. Solid enough but did not come off as complex or nuanced as I was hoping. Sweet syrupy cherry, dried herbs, truffle and dusty earth. The nose is stewed/musty almost signaling something like a past prime Bordeaux. Palate wise it still acidic with the complexity seeming buried. Hold or drink not really sure.

Somewhat subdued bouquet with elegant stewed fruit and a hint of eucalyptus. Sweet attack, bright fruit, round, silky, full, with some freshness and acidity and a medium finish. Quite accessible if not a bit linear (initially). One can feel the vintage. Still quite a step-up from a basic Chianti, more elegant, nuanced. With more time and air the wine builds complexity and richness. Rating based on final development.

Beautiful deep ruby appearance. Much darker than one would expect from an 11 year old wine.
Pronounced and fully mature nose of black fruits, leather, baking spice and some vanilla.
Palate is medium plus body with more acidity and freshness than the mature nose would suggest. Still some tannin and really delicious with a long finish.
This is a great example and I would err by drinking over next few years .

Tasted with a group of 2007 Tuscan peers, about a week ago. Like all the wines, it got three hours of decanting before serving. This one was perhaps the most immediately approachable of the group, and showed sweeter fruit than the other bottles in the tasting. Of all the wines in the tasting, it saw the lowest percentage of new French oak, at 35%, which probably helped the fruit shine through. However, it also gave the impression that it might not be one to hold for too many more years.

Opened when we arrived at the restaurant and left in the bottle to breathe for 30 minutes. Beautiful, clear ruby color. Wonderful nose - immediately apparent it was Sangiovese. Upon first taste, my wife said, "Wow!" She was right - medium-soft tannins, nice acidity, long, long finish. Lovely wine and improved throughout dinner. Glad to have three more bottles. Drinking beautifully right now and will probably open the other bottles within a year.

The bottle was decanted 3 hours before drinking. The nose was subtle but present, and the palate full of acidity with silky tannin. The wine showed some signs of aging, but would be nice to try in another year or two. I would not wait long however.

Drank two bottles of this one in the last 2 weeks. First was less good than expected. It had some evidence of evolution that the wine did not have last year. Oxidized ?. Still a 90-91 wine. The second was clearly better (92) but there were still signs of evolution that I could not have predicted when I drank a bottle last year. I will try another bottle in the next weeks because if these two bottles are representative, the wine is going in the wrong direction. It was perfect (94) one year ago.

Fairly dark color, plummy nose with more earth than wood. Entry is lovely and elegant. Nice linear profile growing spicy and rich. Tannins late and well refined with a great deal of pepper on the finish. This is very well done. Rich yet fairly elegant. Extended date.

We brought this bottle over to our neighbors house where we had a friendly meatball competition on whose recipe was better. This dinner begged for a sturdy Italian wine so I dug thru the cellar for this bottle which seemed to be entering it’s drinking window. I popped the cork and let it sit out in the porch for a couple of hours while we had anti pasta with a nice Turley Zin but glad I held this bottle for dinner. The wine was a deep magenta with a wonderful nose of sandlewood and dark berries. The acidity cut through the pasta sauce and complemented the basil, tomato, garlic, etc. found in a traditional Italian meal. The finish was long and lingering. This wine reached a high point as we reached for seconds or thirds and we sat laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Each swirl and sip was just magic. Funny how later, after cannolis for desert and being much more full I tried another sip from my glass and it couldn’t capture that high note I experienced earlier. That is the wonder of drinking fine wine.

Opened to breathe for 2h. Hot oak cordial on the nose, some sandalwood too, hints of leather. The palate is vibrant red fruit, hints of sweet cherries, oak, mineral. Very well balanced. Almost new world, but the acid in the finish gives it away as Italian. Very plush, mouth coating and delicious. Just as tasty on Day 2. My last bottle!

Medium ruby in appearance. Even a little bit of garnet.
Evolved, pronounced (even explosive) nose of candied red fruit, spice, tobacco, shoe leather and complex savory herbal and balsamic elements. Very impressive.
Medium plus in body with medium tannin and plenty of acidity. Lots of similar flavor elements on the palate, with even more savory and leather notes. Finishes long, spicy and fresh.
Overall excellent bottle and even better than a bottle I opened about 6 months ago. If you love Sangiovese this is textbook and I would recommend opening a bottle now. Will easily last another 10-15 years if stored properly

Tasted blind. Ooo, this is gorgeous and huge. Licorice, bacon, funky game, and sweet barleywine. Pretty floral aromatics. Big tannins. Good fresh acidity for what (I believe) is a wine that often lacks it (CdP). This clearly has many years of age, but there is plenty of room to evolve. This will surely be excellent 10 years from now. Greatness here. Rating: 96
Guess the wine. CdP. 2007. Vieux Telegraphe.

Stunning. Everything you'd want from Sangiovese: fresh, bright, focused, with lovely spiciness, but also superb depth and warmth. This wine was absolutely sparkling and vibrant. There's no rush to drink the 07s, but also no reason to wait. If you can find the 2007, buy it.
Drank over business meeting with DC. Lots of air-time in bottle. Appearance is clear, medium intensirty, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of ripe red cherries, red plums, sweet earth, red floral spice, slight integrating vanilla oak. Developing. on the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), smooth and soft fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet spice, ripe red cherries, red plums, earth, slight vanilla. Long finish. Very good quality. Doesn't have layers of complexity, but a very regal presence and exudes a certain elegant charm. Drinking very well now with some air. Another 3-4 years for the vanilla oak to completely integrate in and that should do the trick to bring this to its peak. 100% Sangiovese. I like. Pioneer of the pure Sangiovese movement. First vintage in 1980, prior to a change in Chianti DOC regulations that allowed for a monovarietal Sangiovese.

Dark hued and still really primary on the nose, especially at first. Lots of cassis and with quite an edge. Opens up with a bit of time in the decanter, revealing a wider spectrum of fruits (brambles, plums, blueberries, though the blackcurrant still to the fore), a bit of caramel, a bit of smoke, something herbal. Ripe and intense yet cool. Very adult. Superb now, but will only get better, I think.

I'm with randyjc on this, no need to wait. This is, for my palate, at peak right now, offering just the right dose of maturity, freshness and character that comes from developed, pure fruit. To drink these wines is to to know the man, and to know the man is to know the wines. If you're looking for a blockbuster, look elsewhere, this is composed and graceful but still offers some good tension and perk, too. Now and the next 5-6 years. recommended
Audozed 3 hours, double-decanted just prior to serving non-blind. Excellent food wine.

Very good. Exceptional nose of cigar box, lavender, tomato paste, and menthol. Savory on the palate with a long finish of tomato and tobacco. Tannins are in a good place now--perhaps slightly on the firm side. This seems to be the beginning of this wine's drinking window, though the wine has already shed any fruit-forward personality it may once have had. If this wine had more energy (acidity) I would have scored it even higher.

I wanted something bold to stand up to a Mussels marinara and this one fit the bill. It has toned down since my other bottles drunk over the past several years. Richly fruited without being fruity and good acidity. Pretty much all I wanted from this wine.

- Garnet color with slow forming legs and aromas of cedar. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of cherry and bacon with a medium/full body. Narrow texture with a short finish - Sangiovese wine dinner: 2005 Rabbit Ridge Sangiovese (Brunello clone), 2007 Isole e Olena Cepparello, 2007 Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva and 2010 Caparone Sangiovese.
Decanted all wines for three hours. The fruit on the Caparone was excellent, smooth finish. The Isole e Olena was disappointing. The Monsanto had good full, rich fruit and long tannic finish. The rabbit ridge is still showing great fruit and was the surprise of the night. Big rich Sangiovese nose and full finish. This wine hasn't lost a step at all.
California with a big surprise winning the tasting!
Not surprisingly, this drinks like a 10-year old Brunello. Very refined, smooth and restrained. Elegant is another good descriptor. Plainly sangiovese - black tea, hints of leather, sandalwood and some subtle floral smell and flavor. Quite impressive - I had in mind it would be bigger than this so it took me a half glass to adjust expectations then I accepted it for what it is. And it is a beauty. Should hold at least another five years but there are no rough edges so other than some tertiary development, I'm not sure what I would be waiting for.

This is a spectacular wine! In the course of a week we had 04 Cepp, Fontalloro, and Solengo. This was the most elegant and still kinda dirty? Smoothe in the mouth, balanced, and ready, but still has some years left, maybe close to its peak. Fruit, acid went with food; not to get carried away......

Great bottle, drinking very well. As with last notes, great depth, great balance. Still youthful so might improve but this is entering a sweet spot for me, as I prefer these a bit young with some structure showing. Tasted side by side with 07 Poggio Antico Brunello, an excellent wine, and this was the clear winner.

Still a tad too young for my wheelhouse, but I was dying to try one. 750ml stood for a month. Popped, refrigerated back down to cellar temp, then decanted and served with grilled steaks. Very pretty: faint lavender nose, with an earthy, dry, bright red fruit palate. Nice acidity with notable balance. I liked someone else's note, simple but on point: "lovely, and polite!" NO rush at all on these. Gorgeous, pure Sangiovese from Paolo!

Entering a nice window. Dark red with some dark fruit notes in addition to tart cherry. Excellent balance, beautiful palate that is very full with a clean and long finish. Drinks well with food, and substantial enough to stand up to grilled meats very nicely. Also very pleasant on its own. Might improve with more age, but worth opening now.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry, mushroom, dust, rose, cinnamon, meaty, smokey bacon and smokey bacon. It tastes like cherry, cherry and cranberry. The body is medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity.

Not a strong nose but nice wood laden blackberry. Entry is tasty and round of very rich dark fruit, a bit jammy, a bit cigar box, a bit licquorice. Very linear profile that shows a great finish that is tannic and black pepper. The black pepper really stays with you. This is a lovely, polite wine with everything in its proper place.

Tight as a drum out of the bottle, but opened up after a couple of hours. Tobacco, leather and dust on the palate soon gave room to a cherry, plummy character. Almost too juicy at this stage. Definitely ready after it opens up, but I would probably prefer the fruit to recede a little. Wait 5 years if you can.....

Decanted this 2 hours before meal time. It definitely needed the time. - The nose had wonderful dark cherry notes, hints of violets and earth. Mostly primary fruit at this point. Over the decanting period the nose was open, closed down then reopened again. - Mostly primary fruit on the palate with strong dark red cherry flavors along with notes of tobacco, spice and earth. The medium acidity was good. This wine had a tannic spine that still needs time to relax. Overall this wine should continue to improve and develop more depth. If you are planning on drinking it now give it plenty of time to decant.

From screw cap bottle. decanting helps a little bit. Ripr fruit, oaky notes on nose. Palate definitely shows the signs of youth, interlaced with signs of modernity. Ripe fruit, good extraction, oaky feel and grippy tannins. Requires patience at this stage. Well made wine. 90-91

Pretty consistent with my previous note. Ruby-red colour with youthful nose of coffee, violets, red cherries and pungent spice. Firm, solid and refreshing on palate packed with depth and concentration. Needs time, possibly more than 3 years to integrate. Great wine.

Surprisingly mature nose of violets, smoke, mocha and aniseed. Upon opening, it was just the opposite in the mouth: good body but nothing special in the way of flavour or fruit - a splash of cherry, a whiff of honey and otherwise just glycerine and an abundance of fine tannins. Really quite disappointing though, with little more than a hint of promise. Day 2, it was a completely different story. Still tannin-heavy but really opening up in terms of lush fruit, floral notes and serious complexity. What an absolutely stunning turnaround. I still won't be opening the next bottle for 2-3 years but I expect this to eventually make good its price and maybe even its WA score.

Italian Immigrants (Sydney, Australia): I found the nose on this appealing - mocha, red cherry, vanilla and some liquorice. The palate is very tight and grippy, with prominent but fine tannins. Give it another 4-5 years to open up.

Currently lacks a bit of depth but i think given a few years, this could be quite an interesting wine. nose of plums, a touch of flowers, licquorice and quite a bit of oak. a few, somewhat sparse but crunchy tannins, albeit still a bit unrefined. The balance has great potential, and i got flavours of thyme and a hint of chocolate around red berries. Needs a few more years for sure.

I let it sit in the glass for an hour after pouring it through an aerator. Surprisingly a pleasure to drink now, in a hedonistic way. Plenty of dark fruit, balanced by acidity. It paired extremely well with brasato al Barolo at Kitchen A Trattoria.

Körsbär, jordgubbar, choklad, kryddor och vissa inslag av viol, kola och gummi. Oväntat slank, nästan något tunn, med en liten trevlig bitterhet i avslutet.

Quite a dense ruby red colour. The nose is very open and ripe with aromas of red berry fruit, mint and a touch of something floral. Although young and densely flavoured the palate is offering lots of bright fruit to balance the tarry, smoky tannins. The flavours are well defined and powerful and linger long into the finish. Very nice.

Nose on the dark fruit side with liquorice and coffee and well done vanilla. Quite a complex nose with a lot there. Great tasty mouth of tart fruit. Really tart finish is a bit dusty over time. I do not know how to describe it but savoury and tasty. Nice rounded tannins in the background. Appropriate acidity fitting for a Sangiovese.

Medium ruby with purple hints core. Youthful. Smoky/new oak, cherries, herbs on the nose. Opulent in palate with silky firm tannins and refreshing acidity. Warm alcohol is well hidden. Juicy with a very long aftertaste. A superb quality and very precise wine that is worth every penny of its money.

Beautiful bouquet with luxurious oak and a bit smoke. On the palate earthy and juicy with good spiciness and herbs like rosemary and thyme. Good balance between sweetness and acidity. Excellent wine. Already a pleasure, but can use a few years of cellaring. Would like to try this again around 2015.

Cherry red core with hint of fade at the rim; vibrant spicy brambly and cherry fruited nose. Very youthful and unevolved. Swirling reveals very attractive pure red berries fruits; medium bodied, this builds beautifully on the palate revealing ample tannins hidden behind an elegant frame. Good fruit concentration and rasping acidity on the finish suggest at least 10 years aging is needed. Very good potential.

Nose: Very aromatic with dried herbs, hay, tar and cherries. Very robust and refined but with class.
Taste: A rather savoury wine with hints of rose and thyme. Still tight on the tannins but loaded with fruit. Good balance of power and elegance. This will have to sit in your cellar for a while.

Decanted about an hour prior to pairing with filet and brandy peppercorn sauce. Nose full of chocolate, raspberries, dark cherries, and menthol. Medium bodied with the sweet fruit hitting you up front with some angular tannin moving toward more roasted coffee and coco nibs out of the finish. Great balance and structure with everything in the right place. Popped it too soon of course, but sit on this for 10 years or more and you will be rewarded for sure.

Great wine.

Came together much better after some air. There was some mould present under the foil cap, so that might explain the raisiny finish that would be present when a wine is drank toward the end of its drinking window. This score may have been higher and more consistent with other CT users had the issue with some cork leagage not been present.

Easy to drink with or without food which is a positive though not sure how long I’d age it. Surely will go for some time but I’d be happy to drink them now and in coming year or two so though I’m
sure comments will be added in years to come that are positive.

Pronounced and fully mature nose of black fruits, leather, baking spice and some vanilla.
Palate is medium plus body with more acidity and freshness than the mature nose would suggest. Still some tannin and really delicious with a long finish.

Evolving and pronounced nose of extracted red fruits (plum, cherry), tobacco, vanilla and spice. Impressive.
Medium body with medium tannin and high acidity to keep things fresh. Lots of plum, candied cherry and spice on the palate with a long finish.
Excellent wine in a great vintage for Tuscany. This would be a dead ringer for a top flight Brunello in a blind tasting.
Drink now or hold for a decade or more in a cold cellar. Very well done!

To drink these wines is to to know the man, and to know the man is to know the wines. If you're looking for a blockbuster, look elsewhere, this is composed and graceful but still offers some good tension and perk, too. Now and the next 5-6 years. recommended

- Violet color with fast forming legs and aromas of blackberry and violet. It's in total harmony and has flavours of black olive, blackberry and dusty with a medium/full body. Juicy texture with a long finish - Dinner w Jackie and David. Great Sangiovese.

Very nice depth and intensity. Still all in balance. Just a really nice wine for our Veggie Penne pasta.

Surprisingly approachable. Robust but fairly balanced. Very nice but likely to gain complexity with time in the bottle.

Florence & Tuscan Holiday; 5/9/2011-5/16/2011 (Florence & Tuscany): Poured from a bottle opened in the morning. 100% Sangiovese. 1.5 years in oak

Pop & pour under less than optimal conditions but "OH YEA" , I really like this wine. Is it varietaly correct I am not enough of an expert to know but it is very tasty and certainly not a cookie cutter wine

Isole & Olena Dinner with Paolo de Marchi (The Ledbury, London): From Scew Cap bottle. Decanting really helps the young cepparellos and the winr improved significantly over the dinner.
Young, tight, tannic. Primary and very difficult straight out of the bottle.Definitely lots of potentil but a 91 for the moment. Very sharp nose.

A beautiful wine. Clear deep red with an intriguing nose and a deep rich palate. Sangiovese notes, but deeper earth, graphite, chocolate notes on top. Great balance and a clean finish. Should have many years and I look forward what this will become in 5-10 years.
