  • NV Suavia Trebbiano Soave Methodo Classico Opera Semplice non dosé

A: med lemon, with gold notes
N: yellow and green apple, pear, brioche, cream, saline
P: dry (zero dosage), fine-smooth perlage, high acidity, med body, 12.5% ABV
C: very good = balanced just ripe fruit with rich autolytics and bright acidity, smooth and fine perlage, med (+) concentration, med (+) intensity, med (+) complexity, long finish. Really lovely Methodo Classico, the extra body and salinity set this wine apart from classic Champagne blend. Drink now or over coming 5-10 years.

  • 2019 Bergström Chardonnay Old Stones

    A med lemon
N: smoke, flint, butter (touch), vanilla, yellow apple, lemon/citrus, nectarine
P: dry, 13% ABV, med (+) acidity, med body, soft texture
C: very good = balanced acidity and just ripe fruit, pronounced complexity, med (+) intensity, med (+) concentration, med (+) finish. While a very good wine, it does feel a bit disjointed at this time with the oak separate from the fruit and acidity. Air helps but would hold for a few years more to see if it integrates. Can drink now but should hold for at least 10 years.

  • 2017 Bodega Chacra Pinot Noir Cincuenta y Cinco

    A: med ruby
N: iron, crunch raspberry, red currant, spice, light herbal quality, somewhat ethereal
P: dry, med (+) acidity, med (+) fine grain smooth tannins, med body
C: very good wine = needed 3 hours to open (first nose was not good), balanced just ripe fruit and bright acidity, med (+) intensity, med concentration med (+) complexity, long finish. Hold - needs time to evolve before being ready for PNP - maybe 5 years and then hold for another 10. Really nice wine once it opened, just took loads of time.
