Very earthy, pungent nose, in a good way. Nice long finish, wow- the last bottle and it's finally getting good. Should really have waited on all the others. Be patient with the 2009.

Quite unusual for Oregon PN. Almost like a Nebbiolo from Piedmont or CDR from a lean year. Tart, minerally, high acid, licorice, some tannin, good intensity on this one. Better with food

This is coming into the drinking window. No longer tight and acidic, it has opened up on the nose offering sweet dark cherry with spices and floral aspect, on the palate it has rounded out some and come together with dark cherries, spice and minerals. Medium body and medium finish with spice and minerals and good acidity. Expect it to improve some more. Great value.

Purchased four bottles in 2/11 and drank one in April. It was ok, not memorable. Drank a second bottle last night and the wine has really started to come together. Opened and poured, upfront fruit followed by hints of herbs and spice, typical of an Oregon PN and integrated well. Medium body, medium finish, overall nicely balanced. Not in the Bergstrom or Penner Ash league but then again it's not in that price league either. Drank with grilled pepper corn encrusted tuna, salad and corn on the cob. Drink now or hold, a definite repeat.

This is starting to come together a bit. Aromas of red fruits, earth and barn, on the palate understated red fruits and dark cherry, spice and minerality, zippy acidity and light tannins. Medium finish - tasty and perphas more time is needed.

This evolves quite nicely over three nights. It starts out with a strong mineral streak, to the point that I'd call it "mineral forward" – the fruit is actually in the background. The minerality still shows on night three, but it's better integrated and the wine is showing more complexity and more harmony. I'm also happy to say that the cola note that's overly assertive in too many WV pinots here is just one of the singers in the chorus.

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of raspberries, cherries and tart black berries that carries through to the palate. Medium acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Drink or hold. I'd likely hold a year or two. 88.

Nose was very closed. But what I could coax out was dusty cherries and a bit of funk early on. A couple hours later the aroma was still reticent. Palate was sour cherries, restrained oak and earthiness. MIght be in an off phase. We'll wait on the rest until next year.

Saturdays at One - Volume 35: Tasted non blind. Opened and glass decanted about 90 minutes before serving. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of dust, rose petals, black berries and black cherries. Flavors of berries and cherries with a slightly weak presence on the palate. Medium acidity, medium tannins, lighter body style. Drink now. 88+.

The nose had cherry and forest floor, raspberry and mushroom, and big shot of vanilla at the end. The palate was rich and juicy, with sour cherry and earth, raspberry, and a big oak finish.

Fruit-foward and friendly. It's a very enjoyable and approachable wine. Paired well with food and on it's own. Tasted at J.K. Carriere winery, their newly opened tasting room in Newburg on lovely Parrett Mt in Chehalem Mt AVA region.

Young and primary. Fruit (strawberry) and good tannins, neither one overpowering, should integrate well. Needs time but it's got good bones. Should develop into a perfect Tuesday night or party wine.

Mostly 2008 Willamette Valley Tasting at Union Square Wines (Union Square Wines): Dark ruby color. Ripe black cherry/blueberry. Floral. Good acid. Just a touch of heat on the medium finish.
