Light gold. Perfectly ripe fruits, honey, spice, a little cream. Nothing oxidative. Fleshy, long smooth palate. Lemon, peach, cream, honey, oak spice, all beautifully integrated. Long smooth finish, good acidity but not biting. Delicious.

Medium gold Nose of ripe apple, honey, good intensity of fruit. Some lemon curd, dried apricot. Med+ intensity, full body. Flavours of lemon curd, stewed apple. Hints of spice. Aging notes of yeast. Great balance and length. Still intensity even at 15 years. Great complexity

Appearance: deep gold. Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of cheese, nectarine, brioche, marzipan, lemon curd, white roses, subtle smoke, toast. It’s fully developed. Palate: dry, high acidity, high alcohol medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, long finish. Overall, it’s a very good wine. Drink at its peak now.

Deep gold. Honey, butterscotch and oxidative nose. Rich, sweet ripe fruits, honey, butterscotch. A little too heavy and oxidative to be really pleasurable. Interesting though.

Cork immaculate. High shoulder. Colour is deep, bright gold. Nose of honey, double cream, macadamia, almond. Palate shows cinnamon, apricot, peach, a touch of citrus, then almond. Mouthfeel is glorious. Age has softened all the edges perfectly, well composed.

Terroir-istes International - Australia-Victoria, Upper Yarra, Beechworth, Macedon Chardonnay (Bishopscourt): (Tasted Blind): A mid-gold colour suggests some age heads towards a bouquet of yellow fruits, oatmeal, fynbos honey, nougat and orange blossom. A mint quality hangs overhead! The full-bodied entry is marked by an invigorating, persistent acidity, excellent precision and depth. Rich with notes of orange segments and touch of mineral. With layers of flavour and a reassuring gait, the wine begins to dry out on the finish yet still holds relatively well for its age. Wild ferment in barrel, 50% new, matured for 18 months.

Cork in good Nic but wine over advanced, which , as an auction buy, suggests poor storage, nevertheless it is very tasty, but not anywhere as good as some of my other 2005s.

Pretty similar to my last note, maybe developing a little more palate complexity. A bold and unctuous expression, texturally it is terrific, slipppery and long on flavour. Ripe peaches, slight citrus hints, the creamy and toasty oak is well balanced. Has aged very well.

Beautiful Giaconda, plush, balanced and beautifully integrated. Very true to style, the palate is awash with ripe stonefruits and roasted cashews, creamy oak and hint of vanilla essence. Golden colour showing its age, in a very good drinking space now but will hold a little longer given the screwcap closure.

Farewell for now: Peach, pineapple, lime, wax and lemon on the nose. Quite round and with big proportions on the palate, there is still good punch from the acid and the fullness of the wine works in this style. Quite impressive how it manages to feel balanced even with the presence of such bold elements. Drinking well now and over the next 5-6 years.

Under cork. Rich, full, complex, mature, here is minerality, honey, bees wax - an almost Chablis-like elegance. This is a grown up wine now, very impressive, for meditation, really - or scallops. #firstweekendofourown@Kandestederne

Complex nose with nutty, leesy aromas when first opened, then grapefruit and melon, and buttery oak at times. Refined and extremely well balanced, with richness and some minerality. Has a very persistent finish. This is in the prime drinking window.

Screw cap. Quite golden in colour. A pretty big wine that manages to balance concentration, ripeness and acidity pretty well. Some riper stone fruit on the nose with grapefruit rind and honeysuckle. There is a strong aniseed/fennel note on the finish which I really like. It's not a racy wine, more round and succulent, but it has enough drive and minerality to give keep it focussed and in check. Long, long finish. All the elements have melted together. Humming.

Magnificent wine - and still young; golden hue, nose & taste exotic fruit, pears, butter, hints of orange peel, and this just goes on & on with both purity and balance. This really hits the spot, arguably the best cool wines made in Australia - a shame that the wine are now so expensive. #homealone

Rich gold colour. Ripe plump fruit with a little honey and fine oak spice. Lush very long palate, excellent density, but also smooth. Finishes with good acid and resonance. Ripe fruits and honey richness. In an excellent place now, edges have softened and now well integrated while the depth and complexity is very much still there.

Aeolia Roussane from the same vintage drank three years ago, was one the great new world whites I have tasted, this is also a great wine. Color is very deep almost golden. Nose shows its age with aromas of caramel, candy, honey and ripe tropical fruit. On the palate it is full bodied, it has undergone the full Burgundian treatment (battonage, new oak, malo) and it shows with its creamy flavors. Flavors open like a peacock's tail in the mouth and finish is long. There is a strange fennel-like note in the mouth. Great wine but I would drink sooner rather than later.

Dark gold. Butterscotch, mellon, caramel, fennel, honey and creamy oak on the nose. Quite evolved and complex. Full-bodied, rich and creamy-textured with high extract and enough acidity to counterbalance the volume. Very long, almost endless aftertaste. I would like to re-taste this after a couple of years, ideally alongside a top cali chard.

Seppelt (Colin Preece) Sparkling Burgundy, 2x100yo Seppelt Paras and many more! (Sydney, Australia): The nose was a little bit rubbery to begin with, but it quickly dissipated to show gunsmoke, vanilla, slate and some wax. The palate is decidedly rich but it has the acidity to handle it. For me it had the edge in texture over the 05 Leeuwin AS it was served next to, but it still needs a few more years to be at its best.

Mealy, hay, some wax and light smoke. Palate is rich and has great complexity and lovely texture. Needs time to settle down fully, I think this will be drinking near its peak in 2-3 years time.

My first Giaconda. Very racey nose but on the palate still somewhat closed but what bothered me was the alchohol poking through. Someone thought this reminded them of Kistler but I thought this had less wood than your typical California.
