"AMPHORA" stamp on bottle. decanted to mature wine decanter an hour or so before serving; tartrates and some fines in bottle.
light body and a deep gold colour in the glass (not sure if from maturity or the amphora). lovely bouquet of white jasmine and honeysuckle greets the nose; some nutty accents emerge and accent the fruit notes of white peach along with faint whiffs of citrus zest. dry and very textured in the mouth, a delicious melange of fresh citric and tropical fruit slowly unleashes against a firm acidic backdrop. a hint of honeyed sweetness emerges mid-palate, balanced by a bitter nuttiness and saline accents. that triple interplay carries thru a lovely finish.
a revelation of aged Ribolla to me, as the younger bottles i've tasted have been on the austere side… not having release notes to look up, i imagine the wine was (at least in part) brought up in amphorae. i am curious as to how much of the increased richness of this bottle comes from the amphora and how much from the age.

Served directly from the cellar; tartrates forming on the bottom of the cork; coy, tangerine/ honey nose: apricot and a salty mineralogy on the palate; sufficient acidity to pair nicely with a lemon- shrimp pasta.

Pale cloudy yellow. Light notes of acacia flowers, nuts and honey on the nose, with a hint of candied citrus rind, some slight oxidation. Watery mouth feel with prominent acids, measured fruit, notes of slightly over-ripe citrus at the back, long acid finish. A mercurial wine with changing moods, hard to judge, good sipping for a lazy Sunday afternoon. 50 + 16 + 17 + 7.

Light yellow to yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of perfume, tangerine and talc. Flavors of sherry, blood orange and minerals. Medium acidity, medium body. Drink now.

Lemon/gold color. Not a very pronounced nose. I mainly get an oily/petrol aroma, along with some herbal notes and hints of lemon, peach and honey. I can see the pine sol connection from another note, although it's more like Lemon Pledge to me. Salty minerality on the palate. Full bodied. The attack and mid-palate are fairly soft and round and lush, but it finishes with a really nice mouth-watering acidity (along with the lemon, oily and herbal notes) that lingers for quite a while. The long mouth-watering finish saves this from being pretty ordinary. A little out of balance on day 2 - mainly just a tart lemon flavor.

I agree with Diane and Corey. I was a bit disappointed for the price I paid. I expected to be blown away by this wine, and I wasn't. It was nice enough, but not spectacular, as I thought it should have been at the price.

This was a lovely and light starter to the EMH Black Cat vertical. As it warmed up and opened up, it became more expressive with saline and rain water. Mineral dominant with hints of apricot, a wine that needs food.

EMH Black Cat Vertical (North Square): Lemon, floral, piney, almost like pine sol but in a good way and without the chemical element. Extremely earthy in the mouth, some body but not super concentrated, clean and crisp, I very much like the earthiness.

705ml; PnP at Bocco Italian Restaurant; notes from memory, but very nice white, fruity, good acidity, a bit of spiciness which complemented the food well. Make sure to buy (more) next year.

Eleven and one-half percent abv. Pale straw in color. A lovely and very expressive wine. Peach and nectarine on the palate. Great acidic structure. Excellent depth and length. Savory and has a grip. Another white that I've recently discovered that is fascinating and delicious.
Nathan and Duncan are local treasures.

Arnot-Roberts release day (Arnot-Roberts, Healdsburg, CA): Lots going on with the aromatics here, all of it good. Not exotic exactly but well outside California white wine norms. Those same appealing qualities show up on the palate--this is a really enjoyable glass. I'm not certain I'd call it a particularly complex or lengthy tasting glass, though, and in that regard the A-R Chardonnays, which are also well outside the formulaic rut of their peers, seem to me to have more to offer.

A library selection, but pretty thin and one dimensional, at least on day 1.

Nice wine. Picked up some citrus, maybe blood orange. Tiny bit of spritz on the finish. Fun!

Soft, with almost honeyed feel. Medium bodied, but relatively rich. A bit more acidity would have been welcome.
