"AMPHORA" stamp on bottle. decanted to mature wine decanter an hour or so before serving; tartrates and some fines in bottle.
light body and a deep gold colour in the glass (not sure if from maturity or the amphora). lovely bouquet of white jasmine and honeysuckle greets the nose; some nutty accents emerge and accent the fruit notes of white peach along with faint whiffs of citrus zest. dry and very textured in the mouth, a delicious melange of fresh citric and tropical fruit slowly unleashes against a firm acidic backdrop. a hint of honeyed sweetness emerges mid-palate, balanced by a bitter nuttiness and saline accents. that triple interplay carries thru a lovely finish.
a revelation of aged Ribolla to me, as the younger bottles i've tasted have been on the austere side… not having release notes to look up, i imagine the wine was (at least in part) brought up in amphorae. i am curious as to how much of the increased richness of this bottle comes from the amphora and how much from the age.

Served directly from the cellar; tartrates forming on the bottom of the cork; coy, tangerine/ honey nose: apricot and a salty mineralogy on the palate; sufficient acidity to pair nicely with a lemon- shrimp pasta.

Drinking beautifully! Rich and honey, still dry but hinting towards off dry

A library selection, but pretty thin and one dimensional, at least on day 1.
