5/18/2024 - Brent25 Likes this wine: 93 pointsClear deep ruby/garnet with big staining legs; clean medium plus nose of plum jam, blueberry compote, cassis, balsamic and leather; dry; high acidity; medium tannins; high alcohol; full body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate has fruit payoff with addition of cocoa, figs and dates; long finish; drink now or in 5 years; comfortably in its drinking window; sadly, this was my last bottle - if I had another bottle I’d wait another 2 years for further development; concentrated and inky with a seductive, velvety mouthfeel; a little hot but easy enough to overlook given the delicious tertiary; best with dry aged beef to complement the wine’s complexity |

5/14/2024 - Slaz Likes this wine: 92 pointsWhat a surprise. 100% semillion that drinks very nicely, with food in particular. Good acidity, notes of ripe stone fruit with some herbs dominate; kept evolving with air. Paired seafood dishes and some cheeses very well. |

5/18/2024 - rwpalmer wrote: 88 pointsBrowning, developed colour. Nose is gentle but suggests warmth. Some berries but mostly leathery. Palate is resolved but there is some length here and it doesn't feel heavy or alcoholic. Maybe needed a bit more density and complexity to warrant the price but all the raw materials are there to suggest that this is a cuvee to pursue in future vintages. |

5/4/2024 - Woodbridge Brad Likes this wine: 90 pointsBig amorphous, lethargic wine but I liked it. All weight and concentration, with restrained tannins, a black olive, briery, plummy linger, modest acidity. Grows on you. |

2021 Torbreck Grenache Hillside Vineyard Barossa Valleymore |
5/4/2024 - La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 93 pointsWine Spectator Grand Tour (Las Vegas, NV): Comprised of 100% Grenache that was source entirely from the 72-year-old Hillside Vineyard, this was aged for 18 months in 2400-liter, once-used oak foudres. Deep ruby in color, it offers aromas and flavors of red currants, raspberries, lavender, cocoa, clove and loamy earth. Medium-to-full-bodied and with only a hint of wood, it buttresses its flavors with lively acids and plentiful fine-grained tannins. The wine's 15% alcohol lurks quietly, not adding significant heat when served at the proper temperature. Solid in the middle and long on the finish, this is a terrific Barossa Grenache that should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10 years. Drink now-2034. |

5/5/2024 - ziavino wrote: 93 pointsThis is terrific, sporting notes of peach, Jonathan apple, and Canary melon throughout. Nice density here, with plenty of ripe fruit and hints of oak weaving in. Good balance too, with a healthy dose of minerality and enough acidity to provide tension. |

5/4/2024 - McManster Likes this wine: 90 points60% Grenache, 21% Shiraz 19% Mataro (Mourvèdre), from a tricky, low harvest year in the Barossa Valley. Smooth, fruity and strong, forest floor and damp earth notes. Had it with bbq beef, which was a solid pairing. |

4/20/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRThough blinded, the lip/mouth of the btl pointed us towards Runrig as quite a number of us are somewhat still familiar with Oz wines. 🤣 There was a bit of floral aromatics (I had hoped for more; Had some Runrigs before that was much more floral) but this was more dominated by dark-berries, smoked meat & a bit of chocolate. Quite a nice contrast from the Ringland, this could be considered more elegant (between the 2) with earth, chocolate and more black berries notes on the palate. Nice, but I seemed to recall having Runrigs that showed better than this occasion... |
