| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.4 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 22 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by brigcampbell on 4/6/2017: Sadly, this vintage appears unworthy of aging. Like others mentioned it's flat after the initial pour. Has taken on oxidized color and notes. Yellow apple attack and lime flavors at the finish. Medium plus weight. I'd say drink up but not sure it's worth it. (2061 views) | | Tasted by Spl232 on 12/14/2012 & rated 83 points: Not sure about the condition that this bottle was stored in, but just felt flat. Both in terms of the bubbles and the flavor. (3564 views) | | Tasted by JeremyQ on 8/22/2009 & rated 86 points: My first Cali Blanc de Blancs. Ok, yeasty profile, light but nothing special. (5131 views) | | Tasted by Dillo on 12/20/2008 & rated 90 points: Clear, light golden yellow. Nose of yeasty bread dough, citrus, green apples, apricots, wet stones and mineral. Medium body, with a crisp, yet creamy palate of green apples, citrus & bread dough. Very good (5239 views) | | Tasted by Haltermr on 11/21/2008 & rated 86 points: Started out with very fine bead, and very focused green apple nose. Initially was taught, with rather unpleasant finish. With time, became doughy and ponderous with sweet finish. Wouldn't buy again. (5177 views) | | Tasted by whoosey on 2/2/2007 & rated 80 points: sweetish (4731 views) | | Tasted by Cheers_mate! on 6/14/2006 & rated 90 points: had with the Shirks. (3319 views) | | Tasted by vy#10 on 4/8/2006: Drank prior to taking MMH to Lola. Good fruit and bubbles. Left in refridgerator too long prior to consuming. (2923 views) | | Tasted by ejca on 3/5/2006: very good and a good value (3106 views) | | Tasted by Stephan O on 2/11/2006 & rated 90 points: This is lively, crisp, and citrusy, as others have said. The palate shows an interesting mix of raw pasta and sweet apple cider. Though the bubbles are on the brawny side, they don't detract too much from the overall package. A long, yeasty finish rounds out a solid value ($26). (3163 views) | | Tasted by Tejano on 12/31/2005 & rated 91 points: A very light gold color with appropriate small bubbles that gave on opening a very yeasty aroma that gave way to some nice smooth citrus and stonefruit. A nice clean crisp taste that invited consistent sipping! A very nice bubbly on New Years Eve. (3177 views) | | Tasted by socidelvino on 12/30/2005: Opened in Kaua’i. Strong acid (1599 views) | | Tasted by TomTom on 6/19/2005 & rated 91 points: This is a very good QPR sparkler. Picked up for $23 and couldn't have expected more from it. Fresh, and lively with notes of apricot and pear. (3581 views) | | Tasted by flashvictor on 3/23/2005 & rated 89 points: Lots of crisp citrus, pear, and honeysuckle. Very clean now, and I would anticipate this to have the stuffing to cellar upto 5 years. Enjoyable now! (3736 views) | | Tasted by Erik R. on 2/26/2005 & rated 88 points: Had some heft on it, but mostly nice and clean, firm, with citrus, zest, meringue. (3622 views) | | Tasted by Erik R. on 1/1/2005: Crisp and citrusy. (3896 views) | | Tasted by RogerG on 7/17/2004: Great bubbles, yeasty, almost moscato-like (323 views) |
| Schramsberg Vineyards Producer websiteChardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson CaliforniaNapa Valley.http://www.stagecoachvineyard.com/vineyards/our_vineyards.php Santa Ynez.http://www.everyvine.com/org/Camp_Four/vineyard/Camp_Four/ |
