Tasted by ralaspech on 1/4/2023 & rated 90 points: Yeasty nose. Tastes of ripe apple, perhaps slightly oxidized. Roasted nut accents. Touch of minerals on the finish. Showing more age than I expected, perhaps not stored properly. (1114 views)
Tasted by Davidalan on 11/23/2022 & rated 89 points: Drank at Kimberly’s prior to wasabi beef. Light color and good bubbles . (932 views)
Tasted by merlotsmile on 4/29/2022 & rated 90 points: Vinminnen 8 (1345 views)
Tasted by juffer on 11/2/2021 & rated 87 points: Fairly yeasty nose. Some nuttiness. Coarse bubbles. Somewhat neutral finish with a touch of bitterness. But on the whole comes across as too much dosage for my tastes in the sense of being slightly off dry and heavier than it needs to be. (1761 views)
Tasted by clio_wine on 11/27/2020: Light pale yellow, excellent bubbles, nice toast, but I found it to have a slightly bitter finish. (2327 views)
Tasted by Order66 on 9/27/2020 & rated 88 points: Out of the half bottle. Gorgeous light gold color. Tantalizing scents of apricots, brioche, limes and sandstone. Wonderful flavours of toast, citrus, pomegranates (I know right) and green tea. Hard to argue against aging your Schramsbergs. Even their entry level wines prove to get better with time! Tastes wonderful with steamed salmon and a side of broccoli slaw. (2355 views)
Tasted by Reichert6 on 9/26/2020: Drank to toast John Naab (1628 views)
Tasted by Thomas D on 8/8/2020 & rated 90 points: Pale golden color with fine bubbles; lemon and honey nose and subtle stone fruit notes on the palate with crisp acidity. The flavors improved as it warmed up a little. (1851 views)
Tasted by EMTAME on 6/7/2020 & rated 90 points: Drinking very nicely at this point. Lots of effusive bubbles and a very pleasing, lively palate. Great QPR sparkler. (1613 views)
Tasted by SurLie on 4/1/2020: Dónate (1713 views)
Tasted by Deux Chevaux on 2/15/2020: Yeasty, mineral, and quite deep. Lovely. (1630 views)
Tasted by 87tellub on 1/9/2020: Flawed. Bummer. (1641 views)
Tasted by pupaes on 1/2/2020 & rated 91 points: lemon nose. minerals. medium finish with nice acidity. impressive. (1491 views)
Tasted by chatters on 12/18/2019: Angelica wine Club - Sparkling (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Lemon and biscuit dominate the nose. on the palate it has juicy citrus fruit, crisp mousse, it's tangy, a little texture on the mid palate, slight alcohol warmth. Nice. (1816 views)
Tasted by travelme on 7/22/2019 & rated 92 points: Another great bottle and my last one of this vintage. A real treat tonight. (1974 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 7/1/2019 & rated 91 points: Light, pale gold in color with a fine & constant perlage. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of green apples, lemons/limes & pears with overtones of floral & yeasty/brioche notes, minerals & stony. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured yet crisp, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, Meyer lemons & pears with yeasty/bread, stony & minerals. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present although aging has added a bit of complexity since its initial release. (1909 views)
Tasted by srh on 6/1/2019: Champagnes & Sparkling Wines (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): From 375 ml

100% Chard from Napa (66%), Sonoma (31%), & 3% Marin (3%) Counties; Harvested August 11-September 24, 2014: “Small lots of malolactic- & barrel-fermented (17%) wines are added for complexity. The wine is aged on the yeast lees in the bottle for over 2 yrs prior to disgorgement.” 12.8% ABV, 0.95 g/100 ml R.S., 0.90 g/100 ml T.A., & 3.13 pH;

N: Yeast with notes of caramel?

P: MF body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt BEAUTIFULLY offset by an acidity which deftly works everything out by the LONG, tangy/SWT finish. Best as an aperitif, but could work with luncheon fare. My EXC-; 92 pts WE @ $40, & 90 WA. [Check with this vendor if interested in their *very* COMPETITIVE price for the 375 ml size!] (2084 views)
Tasted by Polindz on 5/24/2019 & rated 91 points: A wonderful sparkling wine. (1638 views)
Tasted by chatters on 2/16/2019: California Dreaming - New Californian arrivals 2019 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Biscuit, muted citrus and peach and this citrus and peach lends itself to the palate with an extremely vivacious mousse. Possibly some residual sugar as I find this more generous than most sparklings. Okay. (2097 views)
Tasted by aagrawal on 1/27/2019 & rated 82 points: Mom’s 60th birthday (French Laundry): Slightly sweet for an extra brut, simple but enjoyable. 82 (1460 views)
Tasted by BBinSC on 1/1/2019 & rated 92 points: Excellent, dry, yeasty bubbly that's long on flavor and finish. Pungent nose of apple, crisp fruit on the palate, but avoids the hint of sweetness that befalls so many new world bubblies. Outstanding. (1618 views)
Tasted by eoinhharkins on 12/14/2018 & rated 90 points: Apples and pear with slight toast note, lively effervescent feel, lots of acidity and medium length (1835 views)
Tasted by travelme on 11/22/2018 & rated 91 points: Great bottle of Schramsberg that started Thanksgiving evening. This went down with ease and was the opening palate cleanser and crowd pleaser. (1658 views)
Tasted by Baron Slick on 8/10/2018 & rated 91 points: I love Schramsberg with a little age and this is developing nicely since last year’s bottle. Green apple, kiwi, and key lime pie aromas have a slight herbaceous aspect. The crisp, tensile, and foamy palate displays glazed fruit, river rocks, dried herbs, and hints of bottle age complexity. Closes with baking spices on the finish. Nicely done, once again. (2013 views)
Tasted by Shay.Aldriedge on 7/3/2018 & rated 91 points: Herbaceous on the nose with added limestone. Palate shows more of the classic chalk/yeast notes with minuscule bubbles. ALMOST creamy (but not quite). There is a baked key lime pie type finish. A nice US sparkler for the price. (2369 views)

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson

North Coast

The North Coast American Viticultural Area (AVA) in California, covering more than three million acres, includes Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties, and portions of Marin and Solano counties. (see The Wine Institute for more information)
