Decanted immediately before dinner, an hour after opening. Nose and palate redolent of sweet blackberry with a touch of eucalyptus. Tannins integrated, acidity still holding well. Delicious with lamb

Dark reddish-purple in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of blackberries, plums & some raisin notes with overtones of earthy/dusty notes, mint, spices, some cedar notes, leather, tobacco, tar, anise, herbs & oak/vanilla notes. Full bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs, cocoa, minerals & oak/vanilla. Lingering finish with a bit of heat. Drinks quite well at present but appears to be close to or at its peak of development. Although it may hold here for a few more years, I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging.

Further to my Note of March 27, '19: This continues to please with no sign of decline; also enjoyed a bottle in late May. Solid cork. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Dark purple; mature red and black fruits, Bdx-like, though more rustic, good mouthfeel; good persistence. Simply delicious and holding well. Solid Outstanding-.

Remarkably well preserved, no hint of browning.

That has a rather lovely nose to it. And on the palate too. Has the eucalyptus note of McLaren but nicely balanced and lovely.
