  • Really special, one of the best Albarino I've drunk. Light gold. Sea spray. Really intense, great concentration, intense minerality. Line of salinity. Mostly citrus, lemon & lime with some white peach in the background. Fair acidity. Very decent length. Lovely and also impressive.

  • Purchased from a LWS along with the regular Albariño bottling for an Oysterfest afternoon with neighbors.

Wow! I was just thinking about how to describe the wine, but I agree with everyone’s notes so far. Drank from a clear plastic cup. But the nose was still aromatic with hints of jasmine, fresh squeezed citrus juice, and ocean spray. The palate was smooth with no sharp edges versus the regular bottling and its angular citrus notes. The Cepas seemed to have taken the minerality and salinity up a notch. Delicious.

  • At Berria, Madrid: A rich, rounded Albarino, with more minerals and salinity than fruitiness. I would have traded some of the roundness for acidity, but it was still a pleasure to drink.

  • -- Popped and poured at a restaurant --

Plenty of fruit and mineral, all draped over a strong acidic spine. Superb!

  • -- popped and poured --
    -- tasted non-blind over 2.5 hrs. --

NOSE: high-toned, bright, juicy, and green; the alc. does come through just a hint, and is reminiscent of potato vodka.

    BODY: medium-light tan-yellow color; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: high acidity; dry, with lots of salty mineral; 13.5% alc. not noticeable on the palate; as far as the fruit goes, it's in the gooseberry & lychee part of the spectrum, with some apple, too; I love this wine! Overall impression is bright, dry, mineral-laden, and high acidity.
