  • Initially thought to pop and pour @ cellar temp, but this wine took about an hour of air to open up, 60 F. Light ruby color. Lovely blueberry fruit on the nose, hints of strawberry and rose petals. No noticeable oak or heat, very light tannins, pleasant acidity. Slightly tart cherry fruit on the palate, sandalwood, savory cranberry and licorice. Long, lingering finish with a bit of grip. Give this wine some time or some air (i was thinking 86 points after 30 minutes, but after an hour I was very pleased with the wine).

  • Medium transluctent red. Very typical nose, highly floral and quite concentrated. What stands out about this bottle is the purity, a high acid linear and light red-fruit profile that is shrill without being over the top. Very nice with a haul of italian food recently imported from Piedmont.

  • Final bottle - drank all of this with 18 months, clearly showing my preference for lighter styles of red wine. A shame, would have like to have charted development though the window, but I have the Marcarini left I suppose. Notes as last time really, bright light red dominated by pleasant sour cherry, very tart fruit, quite puckering. Easy going wine for a weekday night.

  • Tasting note much as before - on the light side of medium-red, very aromatic with some sweet flowers. Very pure and vibrant, 'croquant'. High taste, a lot of tang and bite whilst remaining light and elegant. Very nicely done.

  • very light translucent cranberry red, fresh blueberry, raspberry, confectioner sugar and wet leaves on the nose. cherry, red apple, new leather, and light minerality come out with a nice supply of acidity - though the wine is very light on the palate and lacks structure some, soft/medium tannin that give just a little draw to the finish. This is a red that would be nice with shrimp or lobster, light poultry dishes devoid of salty fatty starches, or soft, light in flavor, creamy cheeses. Not a bad wine.
