NobleRottersSydney - Sangiovese & Tempranillo (Glass Brasserie, Sydney): {cork} [Geoffrey] Back-up fizz. Aromas of stonefruit and a little yeast, with just a hint of maturity. The palate offers ripe fruit, getting almost tropical in flavour and richness, to the point where it seems to be at the upper edge of ‘brut’. Medium/full in weight, with medium/large creamily aggressive bubbles. Medium length finish that sits a bit on the front palate.

BTG. Berry with orchard fruit, plenty of bready notes bordering yeasty for such a current version of the wine. On the ultra bright side, just able to retain its good sense of balance. Enjoyable, but once again not a Champagne that thrills me.

(NV Drappier Brut Carte d'Or Champagne) An aromatic wine full of brioche and raspberries. The palate is dry with a creamy feel, full of evolving flavors of raspberries and lemon. An extended finish. Retail is listed at $49 but currently being sold around town for a non-sale price of $35, which is a steal.
(NV Drappier Champagne Carte d'Or Brut) Light yellow color; tart apple nose; tart apple, baked apple palate; medium finish

90/91. 12%: An elegant wine with Biscuity tones and good freshly fruited length. Drink in next 2-5 years.

Loads of citrus, green apples and bread. Long finish. A very pleasant experience all in all.

'As usual' with purity and a very refreshing citrus backbone.
