2020 L.A.S Vino Pinot Noir Albino PNO
5/21/2024 - colinscellar Does not like this wine: 85 Points
Some strawberry on the palate and nose with fresh acidity and a pleasant weight to the mouthfeel, but there's not a lot going on here for me.
Thia one's entirely my fault, the "Albino PNO" name got me curious and distracted me from the fact it's just a rosé.
I confess to not understanding rosé at all. Maybe there's some great rosés out there I haven't tried but they mostly seem like low intensity wines, and I can't imagine a scenario where this style would be preferable to something like a Chardonnay or Riesling with real character.

2015 Klein Constantia Vin de Constance

Luscious nose of lychee, apricot, candied orange peel and plump raisins. Palate a little less sweet than the nose, showed mango, dried pawpaw and orange peel.
Some obvious viscosity woth the residual sugar but for what it is it's fairlyight weight. A slight dryness to the finish stops it from seeming cloying and makes me want the next sip. Gorgeous wine.

2022 Giaconda Chardonnay Nantua Les Deux

Twist and poured, drank over ~90mins. A bit of reduction. Stonefruit and ripe lemon on the nose and palate, oak showed up a little later with ginger spice and sandalwood. Surprisingly soft in the mouth, pleasingly broad.
I'm impressed by how well this is drinking young. I remember thinking the 2019 was a bit of an aggressive punch in the face but this is really good now. Should still last years though, no rush.
