For me, the words Zinfandel and elegant seldom belong in the same sentence but this wine may change that. In the nose rich tart and sweet cherry, sweet orange and black licorice with hints of wood smoke. In the mouth a mélange of juicy wild red fruit washed in fresh squeezed citrus with smoky, peppery undertones that seem to linger on and on. Fuller side of medium bodied but incredibly poised and elegant with just popping great acid and soft creamy ripe tannin.
Just a fantastic bottle, drinking great right now and for at least the next four or five years. If you have one drink it, if you have more, then count yourself very lucky.

On the nose black cherry, blackberry and black plum with roasted nut skin, blood orange marmalade and beef jerky. In the mouth bright tart cherry, blueberry, violet and fresh orange juice with dry dirt road and dry herbs. Lighter side of medium body with just great energy and acid and ripe slightly firm tannin.
Really nice lively wine drinking still young but tasting great.

Nose of dark cherry, plum, lilac and fruit leather with dusty gravel, licorice, dry herbs and hints of wet diaper and lit cigarette. In the mouth juicy red cherry, plum and blueberry with chocolatey mint, sweetened strong coffee, pipe tobacco, balsa and dry leaves. Fuller side of medium body with very nice acid and fine ripe, mostly resolved tannin.
Nice wine, dinking about as well as it ever will.
