Decanted 60 minutes. Dark red/purple in glass. Plum, dark red fruit, vanilla, wood, nice balance if a bit unremarkable. Enjoyed but thought it a bit balky on nose, and felt a bit lighter touch with fresher fruit and some herb/floral note would elevate it. Maybe it suffered from comparison with a recent rioja alta, and needs bit of time. We'll see with second bottle in future.

Medium-bodied, with brisk acidity and some new oak on the finish. Drank well for 2+ hours. Will probably find its balance beginning with 2020. 13.6% ABV. 90-91+

Deep violet color. Nose had some dark cherry, blackberry, and new oak/vanilla. The palate followed with ripe fruit, more vanilla, and some moderate tannins. To be honest, I would not have been able to pick this as tempranillo blind. Certainly more new world in style, but if you are looking for a Spanish touch point, think more like a burly young Ribera del Duero than a finessed Rioja. I imagine with age some of the varietal nuance might poke through, but right now it's pretty buried under all the fruit and wood.

Holy Toldedo! What was this? I bought 2 bottles from Garagiste, but I expected nothing from a Washington State Tempranillo. I'm so glad I bought it, but wish I had purchased more. The last red wine of the evening with my wine group, and it followed 4 Cab/Bordeaux blended wines. We all loved it.

Shows more power and concentration than most tempranillo's, quite tannic with fresh acidity and a nice tasty long red cherry and plum finish. A little rough and ready, but for the money this was an excellent bottle of wine.

Pretty much same note as with prior bottle, fruit a bit darker perhaps, more earth and wood.

Popped 'n poured with my wine group at an Italian restaurant. My last bottle, and somehow, not as impressive as the previous bottle.

Nice tempranillo, paired well with some spicy food. Dusty tannin, bright red fruit, earth and barrel notes. Drink now - 2023.

Intense, forward with nice fruit, well balanced, juicy red cherry and plum fruit, hints of wood, vanilla, dry but not astringent, long finish.

High tannins and alcohol - light on the fruit to my palate, needs some aging in the bottle to mello. Definitely hold until ~2018-2019.
