Hazy notes from last night. Lovely purity in this wine, more of an old school kabinett in that it was barely off dry and quite refreshing, with the fruit mainly in the citrus and stone fruit realm, along with slate notes (A-).

Grassy light yellow. Fine nose of passionfruit, white peach and nectarine tied together with a stony note. Lively acids, white peach, stones and flint, line and length. A good kabinett, the fruits possibly starting to fade so perhaps good to drink up in the next few years before the acid dominates.

I was surprised by the rich profile and that it was less light on its feet than expected, then realized it was a Graacher rather than Wehlener. Really enjoyable but if I had another I'd wait a few more years. Decent match with sauteed salmon, better on its own before and after.

Initial attack is right on point, so amazing it's almost effervescent, lively and fruity. What follows is a great fruity, clean, fresh apple, slightly tart riesling. High acid and long finish. Leaves you wanting another glass. Hits on all chords just slightly chilled below cellar temp. Wish I had more of these 92+

has become an outstanding wine. At 7 years it's showing it's depth. Richer yellow not yet gold, a floral nose which is no longer subtle as I described at my last tasting in 2007. A freshness with good balance still with a hint of sweet apple perhaps even a touch of apricot. Long finish. Beautifully paired with a salad of salmon and quinoa.

taste: tart with good acidity of green apples, minerals, white florals, and a bit of lime
overall: a very good kabinett. Nice and tart and went well with the rosemary chicken that I had. Nice tart green apple attack and finish of lime and minerals

Again, the same impression. Beautiful cut, verve and structure to this wine with the mouthwatering acidity to go with almost any meal..... Good now, probably better in a few years.

What an excellent wine! Pure, crystalline nose of minerals, citrus and flowers. In the mouth, balanced, clean and refreshing. Classic Kabinett weight and mouth feel. Excellent.

Nose of green apples, lime, lanolin. Palate was sweet and green apples, lime, creamy texture. Acidity was acceptable-- certainly not cloying, but not bracing either. Somehow the whole was less than the sum of the parts. Cellar 3-5 years.

A Riesling "masterclass" (Sydney, Australia): Lots of lifted white floral character on the nose as well as spice, slate, lanolin and apple. Lovely balance to the palate, with a flirting, fleeting sweetness and good length. Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Very crisp with a grassy nose. On the palate a little bit of grass intially but afterwards dominated by apple and pear notes. Very long lasting finish.

Had a Joh Jos Prum Whelener Sonnenuhr Spatlese 2004 a few weeks ago and I wasn't impressed. Cutting a very fine line for balance with acidity. Ah... This is more like it. A light straw colour. Nose dominated by sulphur notes with some light grapefruit, stonefruit and floral notes. The palate delivers an intense burst of peaches, passionfruit and freshly squeezed limes. The off-dry sweetness is wonderfully balanced with rapier-like mineral acidity. Precisely delineated structure and balance. Great length. This is absolutely delicious.

Pale white yellow. Medium bright nose of white fruit with a slight hint of sulfur. Surprisingly rich and thick on the palate for a Kab, nice medium green apple fruit with mineral and round acidity. Not super complex, but still seems a bit tight. I imagine it will improve significantly with 4-5 years in bottle.

Reasonable but typical wine. Not a lot of excitment here and a bit 'skritchy' and shrill in overall texture and flavor profile. This did seem to be a fairly true Kabinett with lots of minerality and focus, a razor of a wine.

Solid, straightforward wine... yet somewhat simple. While infinitely quaffable and tasty, we found ourselves thinking that this is a lovely $20 bottle of wine, but we expect somewhat more at $34 or so... Thus I'd have to say somewhat dissapointing in the context of previous experiences with this producer.

Fantastic Kabinett. No excess sulfur for me, although showing some reduction on the nose. Pure, focused and showing an intense minerality. Perfect acidity and only modest sweetness. Very long and refined. Drinks very well now, although I am sure it will improve with a few years cellaring.

A very nice Kabinett that was a great match for Chinese food. It was exhibited apple, some slate and floral notes - all in a light and refreshing way.
