2014 Ledge Adams Ranch VineyardPaso Robles Red Rhone Blend more |
5/27/2024 - Mountster27 Likes this wine: 91 pointsVery interesting after all these years. Lighter brick coloring. Lots of development and still with some red fruit balance along with spice, raisin richness, and many other things I don’t remember how to describe. I certainly would be buying more Ledge and keeping for 5-10 years. These vines were just really coming into their own in 14 I think. Compared to Ledge wines from more established vineyards it didn’t hold up quite as long. Makes me believe newer vintages would be even better. |

5/28/2024 - mark.gularte@gmail.com Likes this wine: 89 pointsSolid offering from Ridge. Notes of plum, cherry, vanilla, baking spice. Decanted for 2 hours and then drank over the evening. Not in the class of other Ridge zins, but still a worthwhile choice for a weeknight dinner. |

5/27/2024 - travelme Likes this wine: 91 pointsA big Cabernet lovers Zin. 1st of 2 that I purchased earlier in the year. As others stated, a fairly big Zin but had a nice nose and great flavor profile. Paired well with the Memorial Day BBQ. Enjoyed it and will save the other bottle for a bit to see what develops. |

5/27/2024 - Neurowine1 Likes this wine: 93 pointsMy first go at this one. Wow! hey now... this is so much different and so much better than the 2012 and 2013 version. It is absolutely burgundian in style: color, nose, mouth feel, finish. Closest to a Chorey or Savigny. Bright tart cherry fruit, floral notes, cleanliness, beautiful acid balance, and even a silkiness that I was not expecting. Really unexpected. This is drinking perfectly at the moment. i had skipped over the 2014s but am now looking forward to those. I hope this btl is representative as my prior experiences from the older vintages were definitely mixed. |

5/26/2024 - Decanting Queen Likes this wine: NRNot rating as I had a cold. Seemed a bit thin and bitter on opening, but after 2 hours open this transformed and was full of dark fruit and earth. Very tasty and enjoyable as anything could have been with my stuffed up nose. |

2017 Flying Goat Cellars Pinot Noir Rancho Santa Rosa VineyardSta. Rita Hills more |
5/26/2024 - jayw Likes this wine: NRNew world-style Pinot with an expressive nose and lively, vibrant palate. Tart and sweet, with sappy berry fruit, baking spice, and earthy notes. I was concerned about volatile acidity on opening, but it evened out with airing and was even better on day 2. Fairly good value at $20. |

5/27/2024 - acyso wrote: NRDumpling night (Chicago, IL): The vanilla Hercules (and by that I mean the plain one, not this one) is far more up my speed -- why add something to a thing that is already perfect? The added vanilla accent here really detracts from the pure, strawberry, Smucker's jam quality of this. |

5/27/2024 - Pedroel wrote: 90 pointsNice blend with the Napa cab bringing its usual slightly over-extracted dominance. If lightly stewed fruit were my favorite, I’d love this. So, even starting with that slam, I kinda like it. There’s a very nice depth and complexity to it, fine tannins and grand finish. Good QPR. |

5/27/2024 - RGCM Gananda Likes this wine: 92 pointsPreviously tasted two years ago at the winery, this was first from bottle. Mixed peach, white pineapple and orange notes on the nose. Juts above medium bodied with peach and rounded apple upfront, adding yellow peach, red apple and a bunch of tropical fruit notes. There a bit more depth here as well as a touch more tropical notes as compared to the 2019. The citrus qualities (especially lemon) as well as the acidity keep pace. Has a long life ahead so I'll try to wait for Q2 2025 for my next bottle. |

5/27/2024 - Maphill01 wrote: NROn the nose it is a bit reductive, and on the palate, the lemon fruit is there, with good concentration, but very balanced by acid and salty minerals. There is a hint of butterscotch. Definitely an old world style, can easily go another 5 years. |

5/27/2024 - acyso wrote: NRDumpling night (Chicago, IL): A rhubarb beer that's actually drinkable?! (I'm looking at you, Nath.) This has more of the herbal, medicinal elements of rhubarb rather than the straight-up acidity. It's actually relatively neutral and comes across quite balanced. In fact, despite this being a rhubarb-based beer, the acidity is actually less prominent than many other fruit-based sours that I've had. I just wish it were easier to get Floodland's beers where I am... |

5/27/2024 - rs666 Likes this wine: 89 pointsBlack currant, blueberry, and hints of pepper. Full-bodied with velvety tannins. But the fruit is faded, and not much tertiary flavors to replace it. It was nice but think it’s time to drink up… or not… maybe something un excepted shows up… |

5/27/2024 - acyso wrote: NRDumpling night (Chicago, IL): Shiro plums; bottled October 2022. Super clean and bright, no funk, and acidity that is high but not overbearing the way some plum beers can get. Very easy to drink, and that plum note is crystalline and clear here. |
