Deep garnet in the glass, with some strong tears on the walls. Cork broke in half, was a bit dry so I was scared it’s going to be off. No way. This is 101 Barossa here. Lots of stewed fruit, tobacco, mocha and Earl Grey tea on the nose. Palate is smooth with just a lick of tannins and low acidity. Really nice to finish off a lunch with if you’re looking for something with structure, but elegance as well. Won’t improve from here, but still has 4-5 years of life in it.

OK - change of direction. This bottle was very nice. Good, intense fruit, with savoury notes, firm tannins and acidity that sits in the background, but still has a presence. It also has some legs. At least another 5 years, and even then might age gracefully.

Similar thoughts to last time, except I would say this still has some legs in it. Not sure it will improve much, but then there are no signs of it being over the top. It is a typical Barossa shiraz in terms of the fruit, but it does have enough tannin to hold the fruit and provide a structured backbone. Enjoy.

Nice enough shiraz. There is enough structure to make this interesting. The fruit is fairly standard for a Barossa. The tannins are what supports this wine, though this might not be enough for this to last. Drink up now.

100% single-vineyard Northern Barossa Shiraz. Organic. Dark red/purple color. Ripe dark red berry and spice aromas. Medium-full bodied palate: blackberry, licorice spice, and chocolate. Medium-long finish. Just starting to come into its drinking window; will certainly benefit from further age.
