Drinking really well now. Lovely Shiraz fruit from Greenock region. Intense, rich, dark fruits including plums and cherries. The wine is somewhat ripe but not not overripe. The oak is very constrained and the tannins are fine. The wine has a long rich finish. Still drinking with lots of life left in the wine.

It's a big Barossa shiraz so you have to like that style. It's pretty bold and fruit forward but there is enough tannic structure there to give it some backbone. There is a hint of licorice up the front and wisp of roasted meat up the back, along with and medium tannin finish. Quite well done for the style.

Drank at a restaurant with a lamb, date and pumpkin dish. Delicious - both the food and wine. If this is what Barossa 2010 is going to deliver, I can't wait for more. Single vineyard in the Greenock subregion, from vines planted in the late 1800s. Beautifully balanced flavours of blackberry, cherry, minerals, a hint of liquorice, and spicy/cedary oak. Great balance and good length. Strange bottle though.
