Took a gamble on a three pack of these on auction at K&L. Has ended up so far (2 bottles in) being a great gamble at maybe $40 a bottle.
The two I've had both drank very well with about a 45-60 minute decant. Still had ripe fruit with good structure and a medium/long finish. Surprisingly not over the hill.

Medium red color; no bricking. Medium intensity cherry-raspberry nose, with nuances of tar, leather. On arrival, low tannin and balanced acidity, making for a wonderfully round, silken mouthful. Still showing very solid fruit, and a touch of oak. Could pass for a ten year old zinfandel, with no signs of negative oxidation. Awfully good for 22 year old zinfandel. We're happy to return Scott's favor from last Spring, this sharing of our final '92 Rafanelli with he and his family. Matched to early dinner of mesquite-drilled flatiron steaks and maque choux from grilled corn and peppers. Bottle #12 of twelve.

Medium red-brown with garnet edges. Aromas of plum jam, fresh cow's milk, dill, wood shop essence. On arrival, low-medium tannin and low acidity. Straight-forward fruit shows right away and stays the course for the whole meal: plum, cranberry, fresh beets, and some nice, smooth wood spice. A fine showing for a zinfandel 21+ years old, pulled today from a simple, cool basement storage closet for lunch. Thank you Scott.

Cork sliding around in the neck, significant seepage during shipment. Vinegar. Terrible bottle.
