Shot. I don’t mean to shock you but right now, about ten years into this drinking wine thing, it has occurred to me that there are people who buy a case of Burgess Special Selection (or anything, I guess) and then at some point fail to store it properly. And then they try a bottle or two and it’s terrible. And then instead of calling that tuition or experience they then sell the rest of it. I’m not saying that’s what happened here but I have had enough really cooked wines I’ve brought from retailers and auctions that it’s not just bad luck. It’s people cutting their losses. I have a request: don’t do that.

Opened an hour before grilled steak dinner. Well balanced, tannins and fruit - not musty, none of the unpleasant notes of an old wine. A long way from done. Delicious and gone. Everyone loved it.

Simply stunning. Classic old Cab tones of dry cedar, cherry, eucalyptus, black tea. Plenty of grip and fruit left but in a very attractive place right now.

Perfumed with fruity aromas and herbs. After a few hours, huge perfume, a hint of cedar and strawberry candies. Quite impressive with big fruit and a long finish.

Excellent wine, 20 years old, and still at least 5-10 more years ahead. Cedar, cherry on the nose, still good fruit left, beautiful
