Unusual wine this, worth trying. Its made from 100% Mataro (called Mourvedre in the Rhone) from some very old vines. Deep ruby in the glass, with an intriguing nose of cassis and leather and spices. On the palate it really hits some high notes early on, with lots of adiditiy and tannins, then the fruit coming through to deliver a long, sweet, finish. A really fun bottle to share with friends, a bit different.

I opened this at our 2/7/15 Australian Rhone tasting. It had a rich, concentrated bouquet of underbrush, blueberry, black cherry, cola and spice aromas. The palate was deep, rich and earthy with flavors that followed the nose. Our group’s average score was 93.1 points.

Rust, brick colored goodness. Taste of plum. Balanced and earthy. The finish is long and durable. A taste extravaganza from the smell to the finish. well worth your attention.

Notes of cherry and earth. Easily confused for a Pinot Noir in a blind tasting.

Классное вино. Прям-таки фруктово-ягодгая бомпа с перечными нотками. Не ожидал, но очень понравилось.
