The inaugural release of Craig Napa Cabs. What a pleasant surprise to find this drinking nicely after so many years. There was a barnyard funkiness initially but this burned off eventually. At going on thirty years, the label, foil, the important fill level and cork were all ideal
Dark inky garnet colored, medium full bodied, blackberry black currant fruits with notes of spice, leather, tobacco and hints of bitter dark mocha, vanilla and sweet caramel on a tangy acidic moderate tannin laced finish.
served with ribs with shw and teich. Very good, drinkable, but give the rest a few more years in the bottle to see how they do - will probably smooth out. (was fourth bottle opened that nite, so no tasting notes)
