Smokin Meat and Serious Syrah 2.0 (Westport, CT): From a mag. This was a good start to the red wines of the day. Lots more fruit than I might have expected as I don't always think of CdP as aging quite as well. Developed and in a good spot. This was prob right in ideal drinking spot. Enjoyable wine. Somewhat overshadowed by some later ones.

At least part of my score is awarded for its ability to sing with the roast rack of lamb we had it with.
On opening I was concerned that this was over the hill. My wino buddy convinced me to give it 5 or 10 mins in the glass...he was right. It began to blossom and continued to grow, develop and amaze over an hour or so.
If you've got it, I'd say "drink it", but who knows, it may hold on even longer. I was surprised.

Pristine bottle, late release? Initially "un vieux monsieur", sweet, smooth and gentle but still fresh and without any decay, nice garrigue, good length. Opens up very well, quickly gains power, definition and structure but retains its lovely balance and svelte demeanour. Perfectly delicious.

A great find. Drinking super well now. Decante for 35minutes and opened well. Very elegant, refined well matured wine. Delicate and with a lot of finesse. Simply a great find and would love to buy more
