We're tough on our scores. Earthy taste with minerals. Chewy, with licorice, smoke and hints of bacon. Definitely a Paso Robles Syrah. Surprising for a 2000, this wine needs several hours minimum in a decanter. Even after double decanting and an hour of breathing time, the finish was still harsh but settled down over course of the tasting. Surprising for a 2000.
