  Medium garnet color with slight haze. Aromatic with some age. Aromas of pepper, green pepper and oak. Off dry with a medium-full body. Crisp acidity with medium tannins. Good balance with flavorful flavors of red berry, cranberry, sucrose and rose petal. Long finish. Very good.

  Although this is not near the top of my favorite vintages of Neiman red, it is getting better with age. As with most 2005's, this is a massive, massive wine. Almost too big. However, it has settled down, even after just 9 months since our last taste. Given my druthers I would drink the 04 and 06 all day long before the 05. Regardless, still a great blend. Last wine from Caldwell. 06 and later are different fruit sources.
