What a great surprise. This is drinking wonderfully right now. PNP, opened and enjoyed over 3 hours. Dark cherry, cola, chocolate. Great nose, medium to full bodied, long finish, well integrated and balanced. My palate has shifted to prefer more old world wines these days, but Cali syrahs like this with a little age are really nice. Glad I have one more bottle. Suspect this will be good for up to 5 more years. Don't think it will get any better though.

Rating this slightly higher than usual given its surprisingly positive development 12 years on. The wine was great - fresh, vibrant, dark as can be exhibiting typical Randy Lewis characteristics of liberal oak. But the tannins were still present and the wine had an interesting complexity to it showing some integration among the various elements. I'd go so far as to say this bottle would be even better in 5yrs, though I still doubt it would make it to 10 more yrs. If you like this style of wine, I can think of few producers who are as consistent as Lewis.

This wine was still very youthful and fun to drink. I'm not sure much changed these past 10 years, but good bright fruit in good balance...not excessive or hot. Solid dark fruit, fruit forward new world wine and fun to drink

Right out of the bottle this was amazing!! Soft, lots of rounded fruit. Last bottle. Lucky you if you still have a bottle left in your cellar.

Tasted fantastic with French onion soup and tourtiere with a delicate salad with vinaigrette.
