The rating to date does not do this full credit. It may be an unfashionable year, but the colour showed the wine had plenty of life left, the nose was average for this sort of wine, the taste was medium long with soft as well as dark fruit

Took this bottle to a blind tasting- it was the WOTN. Silky smooth and mature with great tertiary development. Super smooth tannins are still present and the wine does not show any sourness like some other vintages do.

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Not a great edition of this wine -- the green comes through too strong on both the nose and palate. Too vegetal without the fruit and palate density to give this heft.

The initial impression is a little tight, with blackberry, smooth tannin and brown sugar notes. After breathing… the fruit and brown sugar notes integrated into a smooth combination. Tannins are still mild and provide overall balance. Not as dense as usual from this winery.
