  • Never been a Gosset fan but this bottle changed all that.

Really loved this. Was open and ready for consumption. So much character, texture, density, yet light on its feet. Super long finish. Not so much yeasty bits but rather a plush elegant ride w some highly appealing subtle oaky caramel notes which echoed in the background. Highly recommended. Will rebuy (already did actually!).

  • Family Holidays; 7/28/2023-9/10/2023 (Alicante - España): By the glass. Thirteen years of aging is one of the longest records in the entire region. Alcoholic volume of 12%. Almost equally Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (46%), with a sugar addiction of 4.8 g/l for this extra brut. On the nose floral notes, mainly jasmine, stand out over others much more obvious of white fruit on brioche bread. Maybe some nougat too. Excessive tension on the palate, lack balance with such volume more typical of a good bodied wine. Good length and a saline aftertaste. This vintage serves as a showcase for this extraordinary house. Another contribution of mine and seen the unanimous and surprising praises, I am glad this bottle was served at a perfect temperature.

  • Tasting: As Gosset avoids malolactic fermentation, this champagne has a very special freshness to it. I have previously had the 2002, but this vintage was better.
