Very good, only comment would be lighter mouthfeel than what I would want from a next level Pinot Noir. Great nose, hints of strawberries and rose petals. Great acidity. Would say drink now, because of the lightness of the body. For a $70 price point, would definitely pick up more. This feels like John scaled the cliffs of Bodega Bay in a cold vintage and hand picked these grapes and put them in the wine. Reminded me of a Nebbiolo from Valtellina

Lunch at Le Bon Georges (Le Bon Georges, Paris): We really look forward to trying their wines how they try to avoid the pitfalls of over ripeness and spiciness that so many of its new world pinots unfortunately suffer from and make us stay away. But here, and in a few others ( same story with the 2017 Vintage, Papies 89) that we have tried, they go a bit too much the other way and the wine felt a bit lacking presence and was a bit just soft juicy and lacking energy. Not sure if its a change in the style or our palate as we remember loving their 2012 Escarpa ( Papies 93) . Almost made the wine have a confectionery edge albeit there was no sweet feel at all. Especially comparing this with the 2014 Domaine de la Côte "La Côte" ( Papies 94-95) that we had side by side with it . In a way in trying to avoid being a classic Cali Pinot they also deprived the wine a spine. Instead of making a soft mannered Californian ( like Domaine de la Cote did) they made in this case rather neutral and at times generic/boring wannabe of something it can never be on account of the terroir. 90 from us and we wonder if this producer is moving away from our style

Moderate influence of stem gives it a mild savory taste, compliment well the bright, juicy and sour red fruit flavor. Not super high in acidic, medium to medium plus. Mellow tannin. Good everyday wine.

Translucent red plum color. Very light fruit nose. On the tongue I get a gentle hit of tart red cherry or, maybe, cranberry. Whatever it is it is has pleasant subtlety. The tartness is indicative of charming acidity. Some noticeable drying tannin--a bit of a surprise, but that may be from the wine's youth. A very light mouthfeel. Pleasant wine.

Dark red, maybe the darkest Ceritas I’ve opened. Nose unfurls slowly to a fresh cherry, strawberry, flowers, coastal sea breeze, lavender, and faint earth/barnyard notes. In the mouth the flavors are structured, but pronounced, with a slight reservation. Cherry liqueur, sweet herbs, tangy orange and minerality. Brooding and tight, the acid is present but in check, with smooth tannin. More to come here, but nice start.
