  • Reddish brown, opaque with orange rim. Dried red and blue fruit with savory herbal notes on the nose. The palate was much less inviting with acidity dominating at first and taking literally overnight to come to a balance. Once it did it was a very pleasant aged wine to drink. Tannins are virtually gone, what remains is ripe and fine. Moderate finish. Drink up now.

  • I reiterate my April 2020 notes. At least early on. Adding...

    I get more dates in the fruit notes than cherry. This wine may be in decline at this stage. Worth popping and remaining wines this year.

  • Absolutely the best version of this wine that I have had. After 3 hours the wine decelined (FYI)

    The color is deep purple with black cherry flavors that morph to strawberry preserves, and then raspberries. smoky red fruits. This wine is ripe and medium bodied but modestly high in acidity.

    I love this wine. It I still structured and presents wonderful aged flavors which are hard to find outside of aged wine. Drink now !

  • Masculine nose of pipe tobacco, campfire, and saddle leather. Suspenseful, earthy. The palate is packed with pipe tobacco and saddle leather. Serious and assertive.

  • An exceptional example once again from Campaccio of why this is a hyperwine! Last reviews and suggested drink window (09) all tell a tale well past its time - absolutely not the case. This is a sleeping giant, a great evolution of IGT to the power of 3. Smooth and silky with soft tannins, some berry and luscious dark fruit with plum and cassis lining the walls.

    Double decanted and ladies & gentlemen a 21 year old star is born ⭐️ ⭐️ �� �� ⭐️
    This hyperwine goes beyond pushing the boundaries of age and stability to an out of bottle experience that as the root of hyper suggest is over or beyond the norm, simply put extraordinary. That is the ‘97 work of liquid art. Paired with striploin and grilled zucchini potatoes and sweet peppers calabrese style! Drink up
