So we sipped this between 1 hour and 5 hour decant. It certainly got better but never reached the heights I unfortunately expected it should have. Maybe that’s my fault for lofty expectations (life lesson). Aromas were pretty. Baked red and black fruits, pine needles, earth, tilled soil, mint, minerals and crunchy tannins. Similar palate with tannins getting softer. But palate never matched to the aromas. My assessment of this as of now is that I’d take the Herold Coombsville ‘18 over this any day. 100$ or so cheaper. And so many more flavors and expressive at this stage. We did a side by Side of this Realm and a Moon Hollow Cab from Moon Mountain. And Realm farella came in 2nd. Cheers !

Coravined this on a whim and drank with less than 30 min of air, unlike me but glad I did. This was perfect young Napa cab. Velvety mouthfeel, plush fruit, just delicious. Drank a glass or two over about 90 min.
Day 2 decided to open it and left it slow oxing longer than intended. Given its youth I didn’t think it would matter, but it was much better without so much air. It had lost some of its freshness and texture and seemed more one dimensional. If drinking now, don’t over decant. Score is for day 1.
Coravin a glass and let sit for a half hour before it was served with Australian Waygu Strips. Was not as good tonight as I remembered from last year, possibly it wasn’t decanted long enough or possibly it is going through a phase and needs to be revisited in a year or two.

I'd recommend a 90 min decant. It absolutely opens up after that. Beautiful full flavored Cabernet. Plenty of energy to age.
