  A handful of years since I have had this exquisite RdD Albillo f the masterminds at Dominio del Aguila (v16, 13% ABV) & to be honest, the winemaking of Jorge Manzón is just truly inspiring. Age-marked appearance, deep & shiny golden. Nose kicks of w ripe scents of lemon, jasmine, yellow apples, apricots & peach, opening up to nutty, honeyed & smoky aromas. Sappy, saline & textured, massively concentrated palate, ripe fruit, added quince, waxed lemon, firm acidity, juicy & nuanced, leading to a bitter-fresh finish! Simply splendid!

  Pale lemon. Pronounced. Neutral profile with oak and nut influence on the nose. The palate is v. fresh & precise with sharp citrus fruit, white pepper and pastry notes. Nuts & Oak. Acetaldehyde? Yeast. Coffee. Coconut, vanilla. Complex. Phenolic grip. High acidity, full body. 13% abc. Long and oaky finish. Outstanding.

  Whole bunch, foot-troden, natural fermentation over 10 months
  
  AGEING:
  30-35 months in French oak on fine lees
  
  Dominio del águila Albillo Viñas Viejas is a wine made with Albillo from a century-old vineyard that has some pre-phylloxera vines.
  
  After the manual harvest and once they arrive at the winery, the whole grape bunches are stomped and gently pressed. The resulting must ferments in French oak barrels at low temperatures for 10 months, with the whole lees and without any batonnage or racking.

  BYO Centropa "vin utenfor Frankrike" (Centropa, Oslo, Norway): Strågul. Middels intens duft av urter, kanel og et litt ubestemmelig søtlig mint-preg - vademekum? Slank, floral smak - vanskelig å ta blindt. Mye som skjer her, men jeg får ikke helt tak på smaken. Et søtlig preg, kanel og eple - og jeg ender opp med en smak av hvit gløgg. (Sødmefull, med smak av grønne epler, urter og kanelstang). Vinen får strålende omtale med 95 i DN og et snitt på 93,4 p på CT, jeg tror jeg må drikke noen flere flasker for å anerkjenne kvaliteten. Blindt ender jeg på 91 p.
