I had the misfortune of sampling this at the HMCs early on in the evening while he was grilling and all I got off it early on was bacon fat and smoke...I thought it may be a weaker, thinner syrah as the body seemed a bit thin to me.......turns out it was this cab. This only improved further through the evening and over 2-3 hours it peaked at 93-94 for me. Classic red fruited Oakville fruit and taste profile emerged unencumbered by the grill notes, it gained a little weight but not too much. In a nice place by the end of the bottle over a few hours. Drinking well right now if given the time that so many '16s seem to need right now. Would score higher if it had a tad more layers to the fruit, but fairly priced qpr wise at around $100/bottle, IMO. I would not want to pay more for this and if found at auction for $60-75 it would be a steal.
