I decided I need to get after some bottles that have past their suggested drinking windows. This is a great example of a wine that has improved past its anticipated time. PnP, tannins are medium with round edges, acid is in balance with mouth watering appeal and a fairly long warm finish. Ruby red, slightly browned edges. A bit raisiny on the nose, maybe some ripe plums. Dark pitted fruits are accented by the balance of tannins, acid and alcohol. Lovely.

Deep garnet color, I taste tar and earthiness that reminds me of the "Rutherford dust". Wonderful firm tannins that give a good mouthfeel and a firm structure leading to a long finish.

Vanilla, cassis and pine forest scents in the nose. Unfortunately the flavors don't quite live up to the nose -- heavy on the oak, and earthiness which overwhelms the more subtle fruit flavors. Kind of one dimensional and not a good value.
