But it has not the potential to reach more to me, as we taste a lot of Grenache from France, Spain, Torbreck is still too jammy, to be balanced and fit the "taste" of nowadays ! the cooked aromas of ripe strawberry jam and "fatigued " fruits is not fitting the "standards" I'd say
To me it is understandable as it is a trademark of Barossa shiraz, or Barossa fruits, but when one tastes other estates and moreover OZ Chardonnays where they friggin hit the spot all the time, even entry level wines, I cannot believe the winemakers stick to that ancient recipe of jammy, and cooked wines, please do pick grapes a bit earlier and put some stalk in there ! The old vines and potential is enormous and cannot be so "mistreated". It smells like Port so far ...
It si still a very good wine, but the overall balance is missing, too big, too extracted... maybe give it 5/8 more years at least ! Maybe it's like shiraz and they need 10/15 years at least of cellaring to be in a drinkable spot ?

Very different, and more cooked than the others, the style or direction/location shows here, as the nose is on the light strawberry jam, not overcooked, but way more jammy than the other wines...
Palate is quite balanced with no signs of alcohol whatsoever, a good fruit presence, cooked or warm strawberries again, interesting in the middle of the tasting, quite a style on its own.
Good wine though...

Old vines from Lyndoch is the source for this one. It has a whiff of cinnamon spice and pure red berry fruit. It is expansive in the mouth and leaves a highly perfumed calling card, strewn with minerals.
