Opened a 375 and let it sit for five hours then decanted using a vinturi. Dark fruit with hints of mocha on the nose. The palate was mainly dark berries, dried leaves, thyme and hints of mocha. The finish was moderate to long. It is a good wine, I bought a few over three years ago and at a lower price point then they are asking now. At this price level I would have to really think twice about it.

Had not tried a bottle in over 2 years. Temptation was too great so I opened a bottle last night. Fruit and hint of mocha on the nose. The palate was blueberry, blackberry, current, tobacco and dried leaves The finish was long with flavors of dried spice coming through

What can I say, Sage Mountain was not the place to be in 2017, especially as a winery...unless you’re Tim. Severe winter, extreme fires, and record breaking heat. Even against all odds, Tim Mondavi found his stride with Continuum in this vintage, or at least picked up pace. A true Napa blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot, 9% Merlot.
Color is this gorgeous pinkish-purple. Nose is too much fun: dark fruits, all spice, and pennies. Taste profile starts with overripe plums, black cherry, fig, and works itself into a baked blackberry pie with notes of clove, dark chocolate, and cinnamon. The Cab Franc gives this a big earthy and herbal profile to round off a distinctive, fruit jam of a wine, albeit well balanced with loaded tannins. The wine lingers on your tongue for a good 20 seconds. This is fine now. Give it about 45min-1hr to open up.

Needs 90 minutes at a minimum. Dark and brooding. Excellent quality. Will age indefinitely.
