Showing its age but still very much alive. Most of the fresh fruit has turned to dry with some prune, raisin and dried cherry. Some earthiness and forest floor as well. What tannins are left are smooth. Didn't really expect this to be any good but it actually is a nice, complex, older wine. Surprise.

Good everyday Chianti. A lot of spices, cherry and hint of earth and vanilla. Medium+ body.

Thick, tanic, but balanced - heartier than most chiantis. Good for the traditional red drinkers.

April Wine Tasting (Cardinal Liquors, Crystal Lake, IL (NW Suburbs-Chicago)): Had at wine tasting. Very good Chianti that begs to be paired with food (ie. Pasta with Marina Sauce and tons of garlic). Extemely dry but possesses sufficient fruit to drink alone, but really would shine paired with food.

Heritage: stems, funk, stewed cherries; full, dark and inky for chianti, earthy leather mth. Good w/lots of character.
