  • 93/94- :)

Incredible wine, 18 years old ! not even faded... nose of orange peel, dried lemon, citrusy, flinty, overly complex, and fragrant... some reduction, matchbox... nuts... it's evolving over temperature and oxydation

Palate is still vibrant, with med+ acidity, some great core, dried citrus again, orange peel, and blossom, perfect mouthfeel for a 14 alcohol, it s velvety, soft, balanced, only length would make it a 97 pointer... if it was endless palate. Still an amazing wine showing how well best whites from Australia may age... lately the steading white 17 was a stunner, in a different style HVD 15 was astonishing... so are most Chardonnay's from down under ... best value white wines

Again, this is a tremendous wine... I'll buy 18 and 19 asap... it s much better to me than most Marsanne and Roussane from France, in Hermitage or Southern Rhone Valley ! From a frenchie :) you can trust me

  • Very nice; lithe, refreshing, a bit floral.

  • Under screwcap. Still lively, also on the second day, which reveals more white-Hermitage like notes; this is rich, creamy, well balanced with more than a hint of exotic fruit, minerals. Very old World, but in a relaxed way, this is not trying to hard, it is happy to be a cool aussie.

  • Yellow-gold with green hues. Initially gun-flint, stone-fruit and pears and as it evolves, honeysuckle and tropical fruits like pineapple. When poured I guessed new world chardonnay, but later the array of aromas started reminding of a white wine from the northern Rhone, although much fresher and tangy. Mid+ bodied, beautifully balanced with bright fruit and excellent acidity. Very long finish. At a beautiful phase of its evolvment, with further potential.

  • Drank with my friend Yiannis. Very strange colour, it is soft golden but has an overall green tinge, have never seen anything like that before. Nose has intensity of smokey aromas like flint, also white fleshed fruit like pear but also peach and a background of tropical pineapple and some creamy notes along with floral nuances like honeysuckle. Quite reminiscent of Chardonnay but also of a Riesling at times, although mouth is completely different. In the mouth has layers of flavours ranging from mineral stoney to exotic fruit and sweet butter and roasted nuts. Is completely dry although sweet flavoured, has good acidity and finish is long, if any oak was used is perfectly integrated and maybe this is what gives it the smokey complexity. Upfront wine with expresive aromas and flavours, long and delectable.
