Dark color. Nice fruity nose, dark berries. On the palate a spicy bouquet with blackberries, pepper and oak. Medium juicy finish. Nice wine but not as good as other previous years I had.

Dark blackish ruby red in appearance with a live nose of of dark blue and red fruits, low sugar fruit jams and touch of menthol. The palate is medium full-bodied, a tad on the savory side, oak fully integrated into the fruit, mouth-filling, medium intensity, not as sweet as expected with a light yet noticeable presence of alcoholic heat. A good amount of sedimentation on the bottom of the bottle. The taste and flavor components of this McLaren Vale Shiraz is dominated by what reminds me of stewed blue and red fruits with on sugar added, herbaceous overtones, a lovely albeit short-lived but intense explosion of menthol, oak and inky minerality hitting you all at once then giving way to a refreshingly savory finish with lingering favors of dried fruits to finish. A good G.A.M but not in the same level as those vintages from the first-half 2000s that I used to enjoy years ago.

Color and nose as in 2022. Dark berries with a dry note. Medium finish. Wouldn’t keep it too long.

Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): medium minus intensity aromas of biscuit toast over black hued fruits, spice. A little hard and tart on the palate.
