This bottle showed very well, as did the first bottle a couple of weeks ago. In a good spot now, though I probably wouldn't hold on more than a couple more years, as the fruit and vibrancy may already be starting to fade.

Blinded this on some family members. All thought this to be Pinot and of high quality. One person was in Burgundy with this, but most had settled on California. My one wine geek brother guessed Sta. Rita Hills, 2015 vintage, so, pretty good guess. This was my first time trying a Failla wine and I am pretty impressed with the quality and style. While I think it is clearly Cali in fruit and style, the mouthfeel was silky and excellent, and it had very good focus and a very enjoyable flavor profile. Not a lot of complexity here, but very drinkable and enjoyable. Seems to be in a good spot right now, but I wouldn't hang on too much longer, as I could see perhaps the fruit dropping out at some point in the near to mid future.

Pop and pour from the cooler. A bit effervescent at first and tart cherries. As it aired out the wine settled. Will more time in the bottle knit the wine tighter?

This was a fruit forward Pinot for me. Aroma was immediately jammy which was consistent with initial tasting. The finish was a bit deeper which I liked. Paired with seared pork chops which complimented well. I prefer more earthy tones in Pinot but I would service this with groups/guests as I would expect would appeal to most people. Now I'm curious if I let it age for a couple years if or how it might change.

After 30 minutes this is one of my favorite Failla pinots. Fruit, tannins wonderful.
