  91+ as this wine was in a great place for the age. Tannins are long gone, acid has faded some. Has aged stone fruit, leather spice box. The fruit was full tertiary but still there. 60% Grenache, tasted blind, there were 2 of 8 that had Grenache as their guess. Very nice showing.

  Good Wine with an Exciting Super Bowl (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Tasted double blind. Seemed new world with grace and balance. Certainly rich, but also elegant, just slightly lacking depth. I was surprised to see the wine once unveiled. I haven't had this in many years and it was better today than ever before.

  Has aged really well, still has ample delicious sour cherry and berry fruit, and now some savory funk and earth/leather. Acidity and tannin still very much present and well balanced. I'd go italian food with it at this stage, or by itself. I don't know if it's going to get better but I'd bet it continues to be great for ~5 more years.

  Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Still showing good quality fruit, nicely mature, but with an overall cherry pie character that is fun, but tough to really find exciting.
