Merry Christmas Eve! Quasi drinkable after a nice pop upon opening. Darkish gold color. Got better after being open for 30 minutes. Probably a year or two outside the drinking window. Massive brioche and honey. Was fun to try!

Paulee wedding lunch at Nicolas. From jeroboam bottle. Still has bubbles. Fresh. Just a bit of tertiary mushroom and earth to tell you it is aged. Nuts, brioche, citrus lemon drops. Unashamed to say that I had about 4 or more glasses of this. On the palate, still good acidity, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, brioche toast, nuttiness with touch of hay, fresh lemon confit, citrus lemon-lime, lovely yellow apple. Long juicy finish.

Annual SAC event @ French Consulate (French Consulate in NYC): A standout of the evening for me and really I'd say a good reminder why it's always nice to drink bubbles with age. This was from a 3L I believe and age with large format even better. Just jumps out of the glass. Caramel and toasty and all of that but still fresh and clean and elegant. Quite enjoyable.

We really enjoyed this - Caramel colour, a few bubbles which dissipate quite quickly. Initial impression is creamy, tasty caramel/ toffee, ripe raisins - 'less' in the middle - long finish with burnt, orange peel finish - we enjoyed & celebrated out house move The wine looks caramel colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like molasses. It tastes like raisin, molasses and biscuity. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

My last bottle. This was really good. A bit past its prime, but still fresh and a great finish. I would be drinking now but well stored bottles should be really good. A-
