Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Lanier (Gainesville, GA): Another good showing for this more Burgundian styled Aussie, great crisp acid, golden apple and lemon, medium weight but solid mid palate, nice focus; really well done.

Steely yellow green; more of a subtle nose, soft green apple, some lees, almost lime, fresh; great mid palate, spiced apple, very lemon, very slight and integrated vanilla; shades of Burgundy, very nice.

Tasted this wine at the Flametree Tasting Event at Crystal Wines.
A strong punch of pineapple flavours on the nose, followed by a biting sensation on the tongue. There is presence of subdued heat on the palate. After the wine warmed up in the glass, flavours of grapefruit and pears displayed nicely.

Flametree Chardonnay 2012 has a wonderful combination of fruit flavours and structure associated with southern Margaret River Chardonnays. Dried pear, grapefruit, melon and fig are supported by subtle French oak. The palate is textured and savoury.
Drink as a young wine or cellar in the short to medium term.
