Translucent ruby hue. Nose of nostril-filling violets, fennel, damp cellar, acrid raspberry, anise, earth. Layers of tensile red berry, saline, brier, and fine stone on the satin-textured palate. Freshening acidity and tamed tannin. Long finish of iron-inflected raspberry fruit with detailed earthy bramble. Pretty special.

Translucent ruby hue. Nose of pine forest, iodine, airy violets, fresh berry, brambles. Layers of pure incisive black cherry, fine iron particles, and hints of orange peel on the satiny palate. Epitome of intensity without weight. Young acidity and fine-grained tannin. Long finish of quenching berry fruit cut with hawthorn and ferric granules. Beautiful.

5 years since our last bottle. Has definitely transformed... added some weight (happens to the best of us!). By no means heavy, more mid-weight I'd say. Less lighter red fruit, now a bit darker fruit profile with some herbs/earth thrown in. Plenty of acidity, so has years to go I would think. Probably enjoyed it more 5 years ago but still delicious today.

Still drinking wonderfully. Great acid / fruit balance, fresh and youthful. Fully open.
