Consumed over ~1 1/2 hours with dinner. Consistent with my 2/6/2013 note, maybe more citrusy and with harmonious green notes coming through more than last time. A delicious California SB in a dense and weighty but not overbearing style.

Alta Maria- Los Olivos tasting room visit 2/2/13: Grassy grapefruit aromas with a little bell-pepper. Full fruit citrus fruit on the palate with peppery spice and hints of sweetness. Sharp acid and lingering finish.

Consumed over ~2 hours, pulled to go with chicken picatta for dinner, which was a good match. Despite the pale straw color, this is on the rich and dense end of the SB spectrum. It doesn't come off to me as overripe, but you can taste that these grapes got plenty of sun. Still, there is enough acid to provide balance, and the wine offers up enticing notes of mango and something like pineapple or lychee with limey green notes lingering in the background. Good stuff for near-term drinking if you like the style.

Clean pale straw in glass, aromas of peach and citrus. Palate shows a nice balance of stone fruit, a touch of lime and minerality; acidity supports the medium, tasty finish.

Dinner party, all loved this bottle. Light straw in glass, with aromas of pineapple and honey. Palate showed richness of mango, papaya and yellow peach, with nice acidic balance. Rich in flavor and mouthfeel, but never simple or cloying. Outstanding.
