Bill's Monthly Lunch - December 2011 (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – deep red colour. High toned nose with lots of dill with sweeter red fruit undertones. In the mouth it’s ripe and rich with lots of structure and good acidity. A fairly well balanced wine that is definitely not over the top. Drinks well enough now but I think this would benefit from a few more years in the cellar. Very good. 89+

Nice surprise. Worried it would be showing age, and it was a little confused on opening, but after 30 minutes it was Chambord without the sugar. Very popular at the table despite mismatch with the food. With M&E and Faye at Mie Thai.

Heritage: Blkberry, rasp syrop; intense cassis; very fleshy, but not chewy like a syrah; intense cherry and frt jam w/alcohol; med- t’s; taste oak in there, long fin.

Dark red. Dill, eucalyptus and lots of ripe red fruit. Very nice medium ripe cassis and mint flavours. A long slightly sweet but tannic finish.
I liked this wine. It was ripe and had great fruit but always stayed in balance.
