PnP at cellar temp had the indicators of a wonderfully big cab, but for the moment felt muted, tannic and hot. Recorked half the bottle and served at room temp the second night which revealed the richness, dark fruit and silky tannins.
tl;dr Double decant the day before you want to enjoy it.

Delille Grand Ciel Cabernet Sauvignon Vertical (Lake Stevens, Washington): This had a deep, rich, expressive and very perfumed bouquet of violet, smoke, cassis, blackberry, blueberry, mocha, toast, anise and smoke aromas. The palate was rich, deep and dark with flavors of black currant, blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, toast, licorice and spice. The group’s average score was 93.42 points. Mine was 94+

A Washington version of a "fruit bomb" - that doesn't achieve its ambition of balancing power with grace. Nose of blackberry and menthol; full (almost oily) in body; deep red in color. Tastes of sweet cherry, leather, tobacco, and cedar, with a cloying sweetness that suggests over-ripeness. 15.1% alcohol. I am a big fan of DeLille - but this bottle was too fruity and too oaky for my taste.

We decanted the crap out of this wine. Then left it sitting for 3 hours. Nose was super fragrant of dark cherries, molasses and slight hints of chocolate. Very big on palate with an elegant start but big mid palate and finish. Definitely the best delille I've ever had.
