  • Haven't had a DeLille in many years, and when I drink this I have to wonder why. This was well balanced, and a great food wine. It's the antithesis of the "bigger is better" school of domestic Bordeaux blends. More to my taste than most Napa and Washington reds, but would likely disappoint those who are used to drinking purple oozemonsters.

  • Very enjoyable! Didn't decant long and there was little sediment. Nice balance of dark fruits, spice, chocolate, and tannins. This went well with Lasagna, meatballs, and sweet Italian sausage.

  • Glad I waited this long since my last bottle (~5 years). Doesn't need much of a decant, though re-corking it for an hour after opening did help smooth the tannins a bit. This is a secondary/tertiary goldmine. The nose features aromas of cigar box, cherry and blackberry compotes, spearmint, Chinese 5 spice and stewed plum. Full bodied with juicy acid and slightly dusted tannin that together coat the mouth with elegance and textural grip, it delivers a deeply layered palate of sweet boysenberry, Maraschino cherry syrup, nutmeg, cardamom, caramelized oak barrel, black pepper, lavender and elderberry. This Old World doppelgänger has reached a pinnacle, though it will remain exceptional for another year or two.

  • See previous review a month ago. Only additional comment would be it does need a little air, but does goes south fairly quickly.

  • Nice wine, predominantly leather and cherry skins on the nose and dark cherry flavors. Fruit, acids and tannins well integrated and generally balanced. Do not believe that this wine will get any better if left to age.

Will try another bottle in a week or two,
